A Hard Days Work
This is the beginning of the greatest lip dub math ever created
This stranger said yes!! But is it really a surprise with this group of good looking scholars?
Math scholars went out bison tipping
You can find us in the most important place on campus shaking the hand of our new bearded friend
When you hear it's mashed potato and meatball night
Cogito ergo sum
âI think, therefore I am.â But who am I? I am nobody in particular. Most probably, I am the person whose name appears on the name tag in the picture: â Jeffery Liuâ.
But what's in a name? that which we call a rose / by any other name would smell as sweet.
Perhaps we are better defined through our thoughts and our actions and our existence.
So what thoughts and actions are happening in the picture? Well, it appears that a lot of thinking is taking place. In fact, the photograph was taken as a part of a scavenger hunt in the North Dakota Governorâs Schools program, where I have come to think about many things.
NDGS is a program open for application to high school sophomores and juniors, of which I am the latter. It offers academic programs in STEM-related disciplines, on the campus of North Dakota State University. If you are really observant, you may see from the name tag that I am a part of the mathematics discipline (it is a bit blurry).
Again, I have come here to think: to think about my education, in learning more about mathematics; to think about my future, in preparing for college life; and to think about who I am, in discovering more about the purpose of my existence. In fact, my favorite moments at NDGS are probably those which I have spent thinking; whether it be in the classroom with fellow scholars, or on my own free time.
I could tell you more about myself, for example, generic things like my favorite color (a lighter shade of blue), or my interests (classical music and classical Latin), but really I should not bore you with such trivial matters.
Now perhaps you know who I am. I have been thinking, so thus I know that I am. But I do not yet know who I am; for I am still trying to find myself.
âŚwe know what we are, but know not / what we may be.
(Thanks to RenĂŠ Descartes and William Shakespeare for being quotable.)
Math nerds uniteâđź
This very kind stranger was the first to use our very own, one of a kind Filipino table
Don't worry, these math scholars have higher goals than their kicks
The RA's really build this program into an experience we can all enjoy (Not pictured, but still included: Christa)
Hey this is rachel! Giving my all to catch a man on a bike, just for a picture, is my most memorable moment so far. Next year, I will be a junior. I joined NDGS last minute on a whim, that I may be selected. I have been a varsity cheerleader for two years and I love factorials!
Our scholar just brought a whole new meaning to Sunkissed
Who would have thought the mathematics scholars could spell out âMathâ?

âThe Actual Fountain of YouthâÂ
AJ Smith here with a glorious shot after running all afternoon! To tell you a little bit about me; I enjoy playing drums, my dog Max is my best friend, I play Dungeons and Dragons any chance I get, my favorite color is Royal Blue and I love my momâs homemade chicken fried steak with homemade mashed potatos. I decided I wanted to come to Governorâs School this year because Iâm heading off to college after I graduate next year and I wanted some experience before I left home and this seemed like the perfect chance. And if I had to pick one time as my favorite, I donât think I could because this whole experience so far, as well as my team, has been fantastic!
Our male lead has been around the block a time or two with glam shots.
Youâd think that a number based discipline would be able to read a clock, but I guess not. It took 3 photos to get âer done
