Itâs been a while since Iâve been online but now I think Iâm back here. A lot has happened and the last few months have been tough but Iâm fine. After all, life is good and I look forward to the future. I am getting married next summer and overall I am very happy <3
Day by day, I become more aware of the fact that this hellsite is a haven for the ADHD folks.
When you look back in your childhood and think of a quirky thing you used to do and you realizeâŠ
pro tip, if youâre ever feeling overwhelmed or upset for no reason, check the holy trifecta
have i eaten?
have i had water?
have i showered?
these questions will literally change your LIFE. if youâre feeling icky for no reason, thereâs a 90% chance itâs one of these.
This is so fuckin accurate lol
plz i need more options
i think i would rather encounter multiple women who take astrology too seriously over even one guy who genuinely believes in sigma/alpha/beta male bullshit
women who take astrology too seriously:Â hey bestie i made u a star chart
men who believe the s/a/b male bullshit:Â women should be enslaved
the body positivity movement needs to start moving hard into including disabled bodies and this is what I mean by that. yes, it was a good step forward to change the rhetoric from âyour body is a good body if it meets these arbitrary aesthetic standardsâ to âyour body is a good body because it completes these tasks for youâ (ie: walking, eating, laughing, hugging, etc.) but that rhetoric is still not fully body positive, because it excludes bodies that do not do these things. the same as saying how we need to âfocus on healthy bodies not skinny bodiesâ sounds good at first, but it completely misses the point that unhealthy bodies deserve to be appreciated too. disabled bodies are still beautiful and still fundamentally good, not because âyour body is kind to you so you should be kind to your bodyâ- because not everyoneâs body is kind to them. but all bodies are still good bodies because they are what houses your soul. your body is what allows you to exist and live your life in whatever way you live it, and for that reason, it is a good and beautiful body. your body is what your loved ones see when they look at you and the love they feel for it as an extension of you makes it a good and beautiful body. your body doesnât have to look a certain way or behave a certain way to be good. it is good just for being here.

Whatâs happening to autistic people right now?
(Trigger warning for abuse, electroshock therapy, torture, and ableism.)
The US court has overturned the ban on shock devices being used against disabled students, predominantly autistic students in the US.
The shock device being legalized is called the graduated electronic decelerator (or GED). This is a torture device that is used to âcorrectâ autistic behaviors / symptoms. Autistic people are shocked for stimming, and for having meltdowns, ect. This device was made popular by a behavioral center (the Judge Rosenberg Center, specifically) that is infamous for its abuse and torture of autistic / disabled patients.
(Image ID: someone is holding their arm out and resting it on a table, with their sleeve rolled up. Attached to their arm are wires, which connect to a small cube device.)
This is what the device looks like. It sends electric shocks into the victimâs skin; the victim often being restrained and held against their will. This is torture. GEDs have been reported to cause intense psychological trauma, PTSD, and physical injuries.
In March of 2020, the FDA ruled for GEDs to be banned. (Although, of course, they were still illegally used at a number of places.) This ruling has recently been appealed, and today, the US court of appeals has re-regulated the law to stop the use of GED. Sounds great, right? It would be!
... If not for a huge loophole in the wording, which basically allows this torture to continue. This device is going to have continued use on autistic students in order to âcorrect their behavior.â
âSo.... What can I do??â
Great question! You can:
Listen to and boost autistic voices to spread awareness
As-of now (July 7th), autistic activists are trying to get #StopTheShock trending on Twitter, so Tweet out the hashtag if you have Twitter
If youâre in the US, email / call your legislators
Sign this petition if youâre in the US
Follow this case and look out for updates
If Autism Speaks (known ableist hategroup) says anything about this, DO NOT BOOST IT
Thatâs all! Thank you. Reblogs are very appreciated!!
Managing ADHD requires strategies.
Assess the situation. What isnât working right now?
Decide on one change you want to make. How can you adjust your environment or routine to make you successful?
Have a go. Are your changes helping?
Do it again.

i hate having adhd because i was about to look something up that had been bugging me and then i got a wrong number call and now i cant remember what i was about to look up
imagine seeing a post that says âkids donât deserve to get bulliedâ and thinking this is a remotely acceptable response to it
this is exactly the sort of callous, heartless mentality that makes me SICK and if i catch anyone else i follow saying this shit or sharing it uncritically i WILL hunt you down and peel you like a grape
I was relentlessly bullied for being weird (which is to mean, neurodivergent) as a child and guess what? I didnât âlearn how to not be an obnoxious weirdoâ, I only started hating myself and developed an anxiety disorder which made me become straight up afraid of people, aka even more weird. So if you claim bullying is a way to teach weird kids not to be weird, youâre not just a terrible person; youâre also stupid because it doesnât work.
That was the mentality up until the 1970s and SOMEHOW, MYSTERIOUSLY, it completely failed to work, and now we have a flotilla of scientific evidence that bullying fucks people up good while making children treat each other like fucking human beings is incredibly good for all of them so likeâŠ. nah.
Kid me, a âweirdoâ bc neurodivergent and not cis: *Bullied*
Adult me, a âweirdoâ bc amazingly still neurodivergent and not cis: *Still a weirdo but like also deeply traumatized with additional weird due to debilitating social anxiety and rejection sensitive dysphoria now*
