Got really emo last night bc I was thinking about how much Matsuda looks up to Soichiro almost like he's his own dad and when he finds out that Light thinks his father was a fool and sees how much Light takes him for granted he just breaks
#death note#touta matsuda#soichiro yagami#i always think maybe matsudas dad left or maybe his parents died when he was young so he was raised by family who didn't want him around#which is why hes such a hardcore people pleaser and why he likes Soichiro so much#bc Soichiro is probably one of the most patient and understanding figures in his life and is also an authority figue he respects#and then just finding out that his actual real son doesn't respect him at all and doesn't care that he died set him off#he got defensive and lashed out violently#he probably thought of Light as a brother#Light was one of the only people on the task force who didn't talk down to him or make fun of him constantly#and then at the end he finds out that was all a facade too#everything he thought he had in common with Light crumbles away and he is betrayed not just as someone who was fighting kira#but as someone who saw a personal connection between himself and Light#i wonder how long it takes for him to start trusting his own judgment of people again after that
