Alright, so it’s just been brought to my attention that my $300 book cover that I am in love with is probably AI. I spoke with the artist MANY times about the use of AI. She is holding firm that it was not used but multiple sources are saying that it was.
I’m not sure what to even do at this point I am devastated. Certainly not spending another $300. So it’s back to the drawing board on my cover I guess. Genuinely can’t believe this happened.

So I was thinking about the ask from yesterday and as a matter of fact, Dove was one of the top contenders for Daisy’s names in Moves & Countermoves like literally as I was writing it. Suzanne and I must be communicating telepathically. (Obviously a joke, but crazy coincidences.)
Hi! I absolutely love moves and countermoves and I’m convinced that you read Suzanne’s mind about sunrise on the reaping because moves and countermoves holds up perfectly even with the new info. Your writing helped me through some really tough times in my life. Do you plan to write anything else in the series or add anything on, or is it fully done now?
Hi! Thank you so much! Moves & Countermoves means so much to me and it’s so nice to know that it helped you through tough times. As for the series, it feels finished to me. I deeply love those characters and that universe, but I think they are settled. Now I will never say never especially not about that series, but as of right now, I’ve kind of taken a step back from writing fanfic to get my foot in the door with writing my own books.
Moves & Countermoves was very much the catalyst for that and helped connect me with amazing people who were as passionate about it as I was. I get so emotional about that series, I still feel very invested in it. Idk, I’d love to dive back in, but I can’t make any promises as to if and when that will happen.
There’s still so much to be done before release day in August, but holding this in my hands for the first time even without the official cover is such a dream 📚🩷
This is a proof/author copy and it’s basically my final edit before the cover reveal (on 5/4) and advance reader copies start rolling out. The link for ARC reader sign ups will be available to everyone in late May/early June.

The Study is an adult sci-fi thriller novel following a married couple trapped within a corrupt pharmaceutical company. This character driven narrative incorporates all the aspects we love including high stakes, impossible choices, lies, betrayal, altered reality, found family, and of course a love story 🩷

Book Update:
I’m officially in the process of looking for a literary agent. By the beginning of June I will know whether I’m going the route of self publishing or traditional publishing.
I will be sharing that news with all of you and keeping you up to date on things like release dates, cover design reveals, and looking to send some advance reader copies.
This has been my dream since I was 16 and all the wonderful feedback and friends I’ve made here have given me the confidence to finally pursue it.

In M&Cs, even though it’s not healthy, I can’t help but love the codependency that they have bc you can’t blame them considering their circumstances
I agree, I think considering their circumstances, they did an amazing job. I love their relationship, they really do love each other and being able to grow through everything they went through, as a couple and individuals, is inspiring. They have an attachment most people around them will never understand. They are truly one half of each other.
I’ve read the entire moves and countermoves au and I love their relationship. You mentioned how the capitol supports their relationship more than the districts. how do they navigate with that more considering they’re basically the ‘it’ couple before Katniss and Peeta
Hi, thank you! I’m so glad you enjoyed it.
I think they really live in a bubble of isolation, especially because they’re the only ones in Victors’ Village. They really don’t have to interact with people in the districts and they really don’t.
They go out for liquor or if they need something from a bakery, etc. but they really don’t leave their village besides to do Capitol mandated work or to see her parents. The only time they really see people in the districts is when Everest and Arista go to school.
It’s super hard to form friendships with the people in the districts who think they’ve become the Capitol’s play things. I think this is especially hard for them because they used to speak up against the corruption and were essentially beaten into submission.
I don’t know if it was the healthiest way to deal with the situation they were in or not (there’s definitely a lot of codependency in their relationship) but I think they found what worked for them and stuck to it. There was no room for error.

Would you ever write a blurb on what what if, of Tyson’s family reuniting with our girl and meeting her kids. I know they’d probably know his name was Everest from wherever they were, but I feel like in person it could hit different. I could be super wrong about that, but I’m just about to start the series over, and as soon as I saw Tyson’s name, 1) It’s gonna be heartbreaking 2) how devastating it was when she lost them from her life.
I probably will at some point, but I think it’s when Everest is older and attending school in the Capitol. After the Moves & Countermoves epilogue. I imagine Tyson’s parents travel back to Panem to see if they can get in touch with Y/N. Maybe they have to pass through the Capitol to the districts and they run into Everest there.
Knowing that Maysilee Donner is the closest thing we will ever get to Y/N and Haymitch on the big screen makes me so emotional. I feel even more invested in her because of m&c!
