A customer came in and requested cupcakes for his friend’s birthday. The guy was turning 50 and “loved bright colors and glitter”. I began emitting a high pitch creaking sound from back in the kitchen to eloquently express my enthusiasm. My boss assured the customer that I would love to take up the order.

My dad always asks for German chocolate cake for his birthday, so I went with a piratey theme this year. I put the coconut pecan filling in his brain space, and made the coins out of white chocolate.

More old recipes! I had a cookbook I liked to read as a child, and I was really curious about Tomato Soup Cake. It’s a spice cake made with canned tomato soup, and it’s surprisingly tasty!

I’ve been trying out some vintage recipes, and scrabbled together a broken glass pie. I tried cutting thinner slices to get more light to shine through, but the slice was so sloppy. I even tried propping it up with marshmallows and toothpicks, but it just wasn’t happening, haha...
