It made her heart hurt a little. “Put a reflection of a little girl in the middle of the bean.” Skylar says, a sigh tumbling from her lips. “Please.”

        “You must not know me at all if you’re telling me not to do that.” He stated, but he didn’t want her to worry about him, so an impish grin curled on his lips as if that’d assure her. Though her request seemed a little odd to him, he obliged anyway, nodding as he penciled a girl in. “Good, yeah? You wanna help me paint it?”

But, she despised the guy. He was older, and freaked her out. Sutton buried her face in his shirt, before she mumbled, “He scares me. You make me feel safe.”

        Keoni listened to her scenario, a grimace forming on his face as he pictured it in his head. Of course he didn’t want her to be put in a bad situation, but he was just as uncomfortable with that as he was with being on her mom’s bad side. “Maybe avoid sitting with him?” He offered, though quickly shook his head as he realized how stupid it sounded. “Okay, if he starts making you feel uncomfortable, you can leave.” He sighed, wrapping his arms around her while resting his chin on her head. “I’m sorry it has to be like this..”

She marveled at what she had started. He was swimming in his ego, and she loved it. Normally, she would’ve shot some snarky comment at him. But, right now, it was amusing to her. Comical, almost. “Too nice. Yeah, that’s what I am.” Charlie laughs when he does. Although, his sounds like more of a child’s laugh. Like he’s just been given candy, or something. “We’re both lucky.”

        “Wait, you’re only nice when you’re not teasin’ the fuck outta me. That is the meanest thing you do.” He commented as if he had just realized it. He then took another swig out of his bottle while shaking his head. “Why aren’t things always like this? You know what I mean? We.. are a mess, Charlie.” And even though it was a rather serious change of topic, a smile sprouted on his lips like he thought it was funny.

She hadn’t said anything worth bewilderment. “Miracle, the hockey movie. My dad had me watch it when I was little, and we’ve watched on every single one of his birthdays after that. No romance. Just hockey.”

        Now he was definitely lost, seeing as that wasn’t even on the list of things he expected to hear. “-- Never seen or heard of it.” He shook his head, rubbing at his chin. “I didn’t know you liked hockey.” He paused. “I mean, no shit, I don’t know a lot of things about you. But anyway, alright, noted. Your turn.”

Charlie nodded, and proceeded to duck her head under the water, as if it could wash away how strange she felt. The female spent a few minutes in the shower, before she stepped out and wrapped a towel around her body. “Hey, Luke?” She calls out to him in the bedroom. “I have a question - not regarding you moving in, or anything.”

        The night had quickly taken a turn, and he was hoping to go straight to bed, but inevitably the conversation couldn’t have just stopped. He was fluffing out his hair when he heard her, and thankfully he could hide the slightly nervous look on his face under the towel. “I mean, I guess I can’t stop you from asking? Not too sure I’ll have an answer though.”
