A/N: okay, thereâs some strong language in here so watch out for that. This story also involves underage drinking and smoking. It also talks about people making out and whatnot so be aware, fellow readers. There might be a lot of grammatical errors, but Iâm too lazy to read over the story for the 26th time. Enjoy this short story and have a good day!
The strong smell of cigarettes and suffocating stench of sweaty bodies infiltrated your senses. You wanted to escape from everything, and ironically enough, this party wasnât helping whatsoever. Your grip around the liquor bottle tightened as you cringe at the sight of giggling bodies dancing against one another.
You absolutely despised parties. As you take another sip of the intoxicating liquid, you think back to those times in high school when you were a freshman. Man, if your freshman self was to look at you now, they sure would be disappointed. When you were the innocent and gullible person in high school, everyone knew you certainly did not fit in the category of being a âparty personâ. Back then, the idea of underage teens drinking and smoking disgusted you; in fact, it still does to this day. You completely hated how much space a person gets in a party. With mostly everyone being intoxicated, they donât really think straight, and they seem to lose all the dignity they have. Not only that, but you couldnât think of a single party when someone didnât try to force themselves on you.
It was a Saturday night, and you were currently at a party you didnât want to be in. The reason why you were in this party in the first place is because of a certain person.
This certain person is the reason why you wholeheartedly discarded your freshman selfâs morals.
Your eyes searched everywhere, sometimes glancing at the location of your friends to make sure they arenât doing anything stupid. Your rear started to ache, and you desperately wanted to sit somewhere more comfortable than the kitchen chair, but there was a couple already making out on the couch.
You grunted in disapproval; this party is an absolute disappointment.
You came to this party for one person, and it seems as though he isnât here.
With thousands of curses escaping your mouth, you start heading towards the second floor. You make sure to stop by your friend group to tell them where you are, so they donât panic and start forming a search group. Your eyes spotted your new friend who was sloppily making out with somebody he certainly didnât know. You stopped beside him, and said, âTaehyung, you better not regret this decision when you're sober.â
The music blaring from the speakers was really loud which makes sense to why the girl didnât hear you (either that or she just didnât care). However, Taehyung heard your voice and stared directly into your eyes. Your eyes suddenly shifted towards the girl who started sucking on his neck. You always admired Taehyung for his good ears, and the fact that he associated himself with band made his ears devilishly good. You recalled back to those moments when he got teased for playing saxophone, and you remember how he didnât seem perturbed by any of the rambunctious remarks.
âThanks for worrying about me, but I definitely wonât regret this,â he said. You sighed and waited a couple of seconds before saying, âTaehyung, you better take this upstairs before you guys actually start fucking.â The junior male grinned and nodded in acknowledgement which made you know that he would follow your forward suggestion.
Before you continued your walk, you told your friend to use protection in which he replied with a terse nod.
âThe pull out method never works, Taehyung!â you yelled before taking another sip of the beverage in your hand. You loved how no one stopped to stare once they heard your provocative exclamation.
You continued walking, placing the empty bottle on any flat surface. You sighed in relief once you passed the sweaty, dancing bodies and finally reached the area where thereâs less people. You trudged up the stairs, completely hating the steep angle they were in. You hated these kinds of stairs and kept a mental note to never accept a party invite from this host.
You made it to the second floor which is the area where couples hang out in. Whether theyâre drunk or not, they would find themselves in this secluded area in one of rooms on this floor. You try to disregard the prominent moans from the rooms you pass by and keep walking until you reach the end of the hallway. You look out the window and internally cheered when you discovered that the roof was extended below the window.
You sneakily opened the window and crawled your body through it. You carefully placed your feet on the surface of the roof and kept the window open. Finally, an area where you can breathe.
You kept walking and stopped near the edge of the roof, your legs now dangling.
You prefer the roof over the front yard because underneath this roof contains people who are too lazy to go upstairs to make out or people who drank too much.
You look up to stare at the stars and let out a deep sigh, recollecting the recent events that just happened in your life.
Youâre currently in a party because of one boy, and apparently, heâs not here.
You swept back your hair, and then internally facepalmed once you realized how dumb youâre being right now.
The reason why youâre here is because of a boy.
God, youâre basically a love sick high schooler.
âIâm so fucking stupid,â you admitted with a frustrated tone. You hated how much heâs affected you, but honestly, you canât blame yourself for doing so. His gummy smile appeared in your mind, and you let out an exasperated groan.
âFucking hell, whyâd it have to be him?â you questioned, staring longingly into the night sky. You knew why. You definitely knew why. This boy had introduced you the feeling of freedom. You heavily despised your trait of caring so much, and how you couldnât stop trying so hard in every homework assignment. It made you exhausted, and you wanted to stop. You were basically drowning in your own standards. Fortunately, one of your teachers decided your classâs partner for a history project, and were assigned to work with Min Yoongi. At first, you let out a sigh in displeasure, thinking you would probably be the only one who would do the project.
You were right though because all your partner wanted to do was talk, and he kept blabbering about the previous parties heâs been too.
However, one day during the period, he wanted to actually work on the project, but he said he wanted to do it after school. Ecstatic to hear that youâre partner finally wanted to work with you, you ultimately agreed. You agreed to meet him after school.
Looking back at that decision, you wanted to slap your innocent selfâs face for believing in such lies, and turns out, Yoongi did not want to work on the project and instead lead you to a party that he was invited you.
Immediately, you grew disgusted and betrayed, and your eyes started to water. You quickly wanted to get out of the party and run to your house, away from your partner.
However, Yoongi expected you were gonna run and held onto your wrist with a deathly grip. As everything happened, you were absolutely terrified, and you didnât even care that there were tears escaping from your eyes.
You were afraid that he was going to do something to you, and luckily, all he did that day was introduce you to freedom, liquor, and his lovely group of friends.
Thinking back to that day, you wonder how you would be right now if only you denied his request to meet him after school.
âOh, youâre here too.â
You recognized that familiar voice, and you suddenly moved so you can hug your knees. He then moved to sit right next to you. You felt the contrast in temperature, and out of the corner of your eye, you can tell that he was sitting quite close to where you are currently sitting.
âYoongi,â you paused for a couple of seconds to try and calm your heart, âhey, long time no see, huh?â
