Weight of the World Spell

This spell is meant to help you lift the weight of the world off of your shoulders. Use it in times of stress and negativity in order to bring peace into your life.

Materials:

- a yellow or white candle

- Frankincense incense

- aventurine or rose quartz

- slip of paper + something to write with

- a quiet place to meditate or relax

Directions:

Light your incense and let the smoke and aroma cleanse your space. Once you feel the incense has taken into effect, light your candle and place it in front of you in a safe place. You may now meditate (or simply relax) and focus on your flame. Watch the flame and let its flicker sooth you. Once you feel calm, you may close your eyes and breathe in three slow, deep breaths. Holding your crystal in your hands, feel its healing energy transfer over to you. You may chant aloud to yourself (or in your head): “My burdens are now laid to rest. I gain peace from this healing quest.” Repeat as many times as you feel necessary. Next, pull out the slip of paper and write down a personal goal you have to help overcome this difficult time, whatever that may be for you. (Ex. “I will make peace with myself,” etc.) Once completed, place your paper under your front door mat until manifested.

Oracle dice? Like tarot, but using dice? What a fun idea.

Oh wait, it’s my idea and I’m being a huge jerk right now, pretending it’s not. Well then.

Kickstarter has finally accepted this project, which means it could go live any minute now. But it won’t. No, I have a plan. A very special plan. One that states it will go live…. *checks notes* on the 20th. Ish. I am talking to someone wonderful about making it look a bit snazzier.

So what is the project? It’s a custom 10-die set of oracle dice, which will come with a 100~ page book at the core pledge explaining the dice, their use, and how to do readings with them.

Oracle dice are a project I sort of began about 6 years ago, but which just went to the back burner. I’ve practiced tarot and magic on and off for 15 years, and as a game designer, I always wanted to work dice into it. These oracle dice each have unique faces on all six sides, and each die carries with it a theme or idea. Where they land, how they group, and what quadrants they end up in help you to understand the reading. The die in the center is the core identity of the reading, dice to the left are within, focused on your inner journey, and dice to the right are without, focused on forces beyond you. The seasons play a quadrant game around the whole reading, further emboldening some dice and weakening others. You do not always need to throw all 10, you can focus your reading for particular smaller readings, or include them all to get the large view of the situation. The readings even take into account dice that wander away, perhaps off the table onto the floor.

The Elements that I consider make up the Primary Elements are Earth Wind Fire and Water. Typical right? Books taught these as the basics and it clicked with me that these were elements that i could interact with while I casted my magic. Fire from the candles, dirt from the garden, Water from the ocean, smoke from my favorite incense. This is why I consider them to be the Touchable Elements

Secondary Elements:

-The Untouchables-

Secondary Elements are things that still interact with us but in a less tangible way. Time, Space, Light and Dark make up my second tier of elements. But Storm how can you even classify those as elements? It’s just Light and Dark, and i’m pretty sure Time/space is science NOT magic. But they are still there and they interact with us on the daily. Light for day, Light to help the plants grow, Darkness for rest, Darkness for solitude, Time for each moment you cherish, Time for every bitter-sweet memory, Space for where you vacation to, space for the cosmos and galaxies. They still don’t necessarily physically touch us, but they still interact with our lives and act as a bridge between The last group. Personally i think that the secondary elements are a mesh between both Primary and Tertiary elements.

Tertiary Elements:

-The Effectors- 

The easiest way to define these four elements is by the definition of Effect: a change that is a result or consequence of an action or other cause. The Elements i consider to be effectors are Luck, Fate, Order and Chaos.  “A Stroke of Luck” “A Twist of Fate”  “Put in Order” “Chaos and confusion” These elements are the ones that help shape and define our overall lives. Ever carry around a lucky pencil to try and boost your chances on that test you didn’t study for? That would fall under the Luck element. Do you ever just find that thing that just CLICKS with you and you feel extremely drawn to it? That would fall under Fate as it is subconsciously calling out to you. Chaos is spontaneous, Chaos is being able to make a spell from random things you find in your junk drawer. It doesn’t make sense why a post it note and a DD battery would make for a good charging station for your crystals but it’s what you’ve got and you make it work. Order is methodical, Order is waiting until 3 am on the night of the full moon to begin your Year and a Day in Witchcraft. Order is doing things the way they have always been done. So the effectors all play a part in shaping our lives both magically and mundane.

Tarot Does Not Tell the Future

When getting a reading, please keep in mind that the cards do not expose what your future will be. 

The cards will give insight.

They will help you figure out your past, they will clarify your current situation. 

Tarot will show you your options/choices and what your path might look like if you make said choices and/or some changes. This all depends on what you seek from your reading. 

Don’t get mad at your spiritual worker, etc, when “the cards don’t tell the future”. 

Also, remember a tarot reading requires energy. It cannot be created from the nothing.

What to ask tarot

So tarot card questions are actually a lot different than asking a specific question. You wouldn’t say, for example, “Is my dad going to graduate?” because if you got the 3 of cups, you would be utterly confused as to why I did not provide a yes or a no. So below I am going to list questions that are good to ask the cards. 

• I’m at a fork in the road. Which way should I go?

• How do I weigh out the choices I have? What are the Pros and Cons?

• What do I need to know to make the best decision? What do I need to know?

• What do I need to know about a situation with a family member?

• What do I need to know about my love life?

• What do I need to know about my career?

Moving forward

• How do I move forward in my career?

• How do I move forward in my relationship/ love life?

• What is coming forth in my life?

• Which foundation is the strongest to build on in my life?

• What should/ shouldn’t I do about a situation with my job?

• What should/ shouldn’t I do about a situation with a friend or family member?
