It's always 'I love you' and never 'Let's try again. Not to curse someone, but to live with someone. Even if no one accepts you, I alone can live with you.'
Hey so idk if you know about this, but in Japan the politicians are going ham on trying to get BL and GL censored and illegal (???)
And with how gege likes bl, gl, and a lot of queer romances in general, do you think if he didnt play it safe, sukuita would have been canon?
i think i've read about the recent backlash on yaoi/yuri/etc in japan. and i'm really happy gege came out in support of queer series. i feel like it means a lot that they did that.
i also have a feeling that gege knew exactly what they were doing when they made sukuna and yuuji so shippable, but i'm also sure that jjk being a shounen would have prevented sukuita from being canon either way, only because then the series would technically be classified as yaoi or bl instead. and since this was marketed as shounen, it's highly unlikely that the publishers will allow it turn into bl (especially now that there's more censorship of yaoi).
however, gege still (so unsubtly) went out of their way to give us some of the most bl-looking scenes between yuuji and sukuna.
i mean just look at this!!! sukuna is like some kind of lovesick kitten, trailing after yuuji the whole time, yet insisting he's nothing more than an intimacy-hating stray who can't stand any kind of closeness or warmth. but if that's the case, why cling so much to yuuji, who (may i remind you) was the only guy to treat sukuna as human??? i don't know, kinda looks like you're a bit needy for that affection, sukuna.
then there's them constantly taunting each other like boyfriends that can't stop being competitive for one moment. (over the literal smallest of stuff, too. you know the infamous king of curses couldn't care less what kind of crayfish he got if he wasn't with yuuji... he constantly has to show us - so painfully unsubtle - just how much yuuji gets to him.)
but at least he gets to one-up yuuji during archery... though of course the brat isn't as impressed as he should be. (you can just sense the hurt pride dripping off of sukuna's words after yuuji said playing with him wasn't enticing.)
i mean, this whole chapter just made me feel like sukuna is like those tsundere guys in yaoi who can't tolerate having feelings for the cute protagonist everyone loves, so they have to be as edgy-looking and rude as possible whenever their crush comes around. (and then their crush is just 10x nicer to them because of it, which only makes them even more insecure and angry.)
sukuna, it looks like you're repressing lots...
... especially with whatever you got going on here—
(do you think gege drew this with a nosebleed?)
and just when you thought it couldn't get any gayer... these two are pretty much canonical soulmates whose fates have been chained together since before they even met.
(i think i'm noticing a trend with how gege draws them like this —back to back, two parts of a matched set, all but fused together.)
it reminds me of those yaoi manga where the protagonist becomes an unwilling (at first) bride to the monster guy everyone else hates but then slowly starts falling in love with him despite everything because oh maybe he isn't so evil after all.
and though the most recent chapter have really made it seem like yuuji has been pursuing sukuna in this way, let's not forget that sukuna was also the biggest flirt with yuuji before all the feelings hit him far too hard.
sukuna, you've known yuuji for only a few days and you're already feeling up his heart? isn't that usually not until the 3rd or 4th date?
so he does something like that but then has the nerve to act all coy with yuuji later on...
"it's annoying" he says but he's smiling. he looks almost excited. (yes, we know you like yuuji looking up at you without permission, sukuna, we get it already. you don't have to spell it out for us so obviously.)
and yuuji, honey, you know he's into that, right? stop falling for his thinly-veiled traps; you know he loves to bait you like this, you're just feeding his ego. (and also i can't forget to mention just how frustrated sukuna gets when yuuji does ignore him!)
oh and remember that fighting is how sukuita flirts, just in case you didn't pick up on that already.
they look so excited to be doing this right now — yuuji's unhinged grin, sukuna's "fight me" eyes... (mappa, it's a crime that you didn't animate this ;-;)
i'm crying, they could have done comedy together.
also... why are they grinning at each other like this?
sukuna's sitting on top of you, yuuji so why are you looking up at him with that completely unhinged look on your face? (i would say get a room but isn't that what innate domains more or less are?)
and again. if we didn't understand it perfectly well enough already, gege doesn't want us to forget that sukuna just loves it when yuuji fights back.
just look at his feral grin at the idea of yuuji trying to take him on... he loves messing with this brat.
and although sukuna and yuuji are never officially married, the fate they're forced to is almost exactly just that. in sickness and in health (mostly sickness) they are bound to each other, and only death does them part.
crazy how they got divorced TWO times...
.... yet they still can't escape whatever threads them together
even if it's not explicitly stated, it's still heavily implied that yuuji was the one to set sukuna on this different path, to remind him of whatever humanity he had left.
he was the one to connect with sukuna as the king of curses was dying.
to hold him gently and remind him that the monster he is was a matter of chance, that they could have shared that same curse if yuuji hadn't had his grandfather to provide him the fulfillment he needed while sukuna didn't have that in his own life.
to even propose that they could live together, even if he alone would accept such a thing.
it's like something straight out of a doomed romance story. i've never seen such romantic dialogue even in actual bl romance.
and if the heartbreakingly, over the top romantic dialogue wasn't enough, this is their official art, too:
like does any of this look straight to you? (also sukuna can't stop trying to get his hands all over yuuji, it's insane.)
i think it's pretty clear that sukuita is essentially canon already. and short of gege drawing them violently making out with each other (which, technically, that's what fighting is like for them) that crazy one-eyed cat made it nearly transparent that sukuita is actually a thing.
gege, you're THE shipper. to think they got away with inserting the most wonderfully messed up and fascinating yaoi story into a shounen series about a boy who literally sticks his enemy's fingers in his mouth is just crazy.
On the subject of the Emerald Witch Arc: my own interpretation is that the scene where Sebastian (seemingly) attempts to consume his soul is pivotal, but to Sebastian and not to Ciel. A lot of people point to Ciel's final words of the arc, "You're the one I can trust the least", as being proof of some sort of personal revelation regarding their relationship but the thing is: Ciel was the one who stood to learn the very least from that moment. Because really, what was the big revelation there supposed to be from his perspective? That the spooky demon he's been telling himself all along is just a spooky demon out to take advantage of him and eat his soul is, in fact, a spooky demon out to take advantage of him and eat his soul? Big shocker. Ground breaking. If you do take that scene at face value, there is no Big Revelation, only a confirmation of what Ciel already decided was true from the very beginning. But then the problem with that interpretation becomes the fact that it's this moment that brings the two even closer in the arcs that follow.
I think it's easy for people to forget that Sebastian is the main character of the series. He's the titular 'Black Butler' and everything in this story relates to his own perspective. Even the servants' backstories featured in the post-ch.150 arcs are told through the lens of how these characters came to encounter and be fundamentally changed by Sebastian, the Black Butler. It is through Sebastian that the story is told and through him that they all circle back. So I think it's unfortunate that people often understate how the events of the series impact Sebastian himself, especially this one, because all signs point to this moment being most crucial for him instead.
His plan for that moment, which I... don't think the casual reader understands very well but what else is new, is to snap Ciel out of the fear-based, Locked In state that he's in. And this is implied multiple times: through his statement about "shocking him once more", through Ciel's dream sequences (which are implied to be orchestrated by Sebastian, who is shown to be capable of entering and manipulating dreams), through Sebastian's removal of the eye bandages in that moment so that Ciel can command him to stop, and through his initial statements in that moment ("Such things are not what you should be doing right now"). His primary goal in that scene is not to end the contract and he even says that to consume Ciel's soul then would not be satisfying, that it would only "fill him up a little bit". He's prepared to claim his soul if he's not successful, but this is first time Sebastian ever comes close to achieving his own goal, which makes everything that follows (especially his speech while he burns the lab) very interesting. And I think this is where Sebastian came to an important realization.
The first thing he does once Ciel has come to is express something like pity or regret, while smiling and with the image of Ciel reflected in his eyes. This is interesting on its own because Sebastian just stated that these were not the circumstances under which he wanted their arrangement to end, so the continuation of their contract as planned was the desired outcome. This sentiment along the lines of "oh, what a shame" is done playfully because he's happy with what has happened, and he smiles for the duration of the interaction because of it. And you can argue that something similar is (intentionally or otherwise) recreated much later in the series, where Ciel's twin bemoans his body's weakness while wondering if this had been how Ciel had felt looking out the window for all of those years, and Undertaker disagrees because the twin is smiling. Despite the words that are spoken, it's the smiling that is the truest indicator of emotion for these two characters—who both want to possess Ciel but in different (but similar?) ways.
The two continue their interaction and this is where we get the "90% earnest" line, which is another thing I don't think people understand very well. People often underestimate Sebastian's propensity to stretch the truth, and while he cannot explicitly lie, he can obfuscate or omit, which he does multiple times throughout the series. And while it's easy to assume he's being truthful with this statement by considering it in isolation, everything he says afterwards recontextualizes it, which is why it's important not to do so. Sebastian refers to what he said earlier in the arc to Tanaka but reframes it; he deliberately omits that what he said to Tanaka was that he wanted to "shock" Ciel out of his state. And he's doing this specifically to feed into Ciel's perception of him as as this vicious beast. His desire to do so is established in the lab-burning scene that follows shortly after.
This is where Sebastian's realization comes into play, and it's a very natural (perhaps even inevitable) progression of the scenes in the Luxury Liner and Public School arcs in which he is desperate to protect and keep Ciel, even at the risk of his own life and to the extent that he disobeys Ciel. Again, Sebastian comes as close as he ever has to claiming Ciel's soul and he's visibly quite happy that it didn't happen. He had the opportunity to be every bit the beast that Ciel expects him to be and he's realized that truly being that beast does not give him nearly the joy that playing this "game" with him does: and to be clear, the game is flirtation. Ciel is the source of his amusement and what Sebastian enjoys is Ciel, his interactions with Ciel, playing "games" with him and getting reactions out of him. And that's why when he plays the role that Ciel expects of him that Sebastian is shown laughing and smiling over his frustration with him. Acting on impulse and behaving like a beast would have been claiming his soul when he had the chance; this would have put his "greatest amusement" to a halt. The foundation for these feelings existed as far back as the Luxury Liner arc and was present during the Public School arc but it's with this moment that these feelings become conscious and acknowledged for the character. And he does this through an empassioned declaration, with an inferno of his own making surrounding him.
And we see the effects of this moment in the arc that follows: we see Sebastian and Ciel conversing as equals, and in the same scene Sebastian differentiates between Ciel and "ordinary humans" (because Ciel is special to him). We see Sebastian dressing Ciel up for Halloween as an imp in which the costume he makes for Ciel features a recreation of his own "ragged cape", and he promises to keep Ciel's "tiny flame alive" as he lights his way into the darkness. We see a song, likely written by Sebastian (and named for his signature chess piece), performed by the Phantom Five that details the contract from his perspective and his desire to "rip away [Ciel's] shame and regret" while the performers pretend-growl like monsters. If the Luxury Liner arc was the first major progression for their relationship than the Emerald Witch Arc is definitely the second because without what happened between them in that arc, we would likely not have had any of the fond moments that followed.
I think this scene establishes something that the Sebastian of the initial two anime seasons was never placed in the circumstances necessary to realize and would have been of great benefit to the lonely, grief-stricken Sebastian who appeared in the Red Valentine seiyuu event: that he has become attached in a way that does not directly pertain to their contract. That his fondness for Ciel is personal and not born purely out of a desire to preserve what he's cultivated. Sebastian, in this moment in the Emerald Witch Arc, realized that he likes what he has with Ciel. He's willing to be whatever Ciel wants him to be, to the neglect of himself, while he burns for him.

We were so robbed of this panel. Sukuna's worried face when Yuuji didn't switch with him. MAPPA should've animated this😭
Just.... look....
Friendly reminder that this is the smile Sukuna gave the first time he officially met Yuuji in his domain. He has never smiled like this to anyone but Yuuji ♡ .
I am so sad 😭
lee itadori and ler Sukuna ? i can imagine him tickling him because since they share a body I can imagine a scenario where Sukuna discovers humans can be ticklish ?
[Drabble Event 🎉 - Requests closed!]
Ty! I love their dynamic but am still figuring out my headcanons about these two. Meanwhile I did give this an attempt ^^
Sukuna was intrigued. It was not that he was entirely unfamiliar with tickling - as disgusting and eternal the silly human thing was, having known humans long enough. Dreadfully long.
But for the first time he got the front-row seat and it was just.... he didn't know what to call it. Weird? Amazing? Funny?
"That was sick," he said. That too. Yuuji was panting, recovering from the tickle attack from that Aoi Todo person. Some people said 'goodbye' when parting ways, and maybe they would give a handshake or just a casual bow. It appeared that Aoi Todo liked to tickle a person to death as a sayonara greeting. Heh.
Sukuna took the liberty to nestle himself for a part into Itadori Yuuji's face as he spoke to the recovering teen.
"Sick? What do you mean?" Yuuji panted.
"All he did was poke your little body and you were screaming like a cursed woman. It was sick," Sukuna commented.
"Tch." Yuuji rolled his eyes and merely continued his day. But Sukuna wouldn't forget. No. It was some time later right after a mission while he had control over their body, when he remembered this tickling thing and thought this was his chance.
"TAKE THAT!" He must've looked idiotic but it was all for good cause when he stood there and wiggled his own fingers up and down his own torso to tickle himself- or well, the possessed body. Yuuji should be the one to feel it. But nothing happened.
"....What are you doing?" Yuuji asked.
"Tickling you."
"....Ha. Ha. A human can't tickle himself," Yuuji said smugly. How fucked up was that? Sukuna wasn't a human. He should be able to tickle Yuuji.
Surely that didn't stop him from outing his frustration the moment he had the chance to, when facing Yuuji in his innate domain. Or well, he just took that chance.
"HAHAH! W-whahahat are you dohohoing!" Yuuji cackled as Sukuna tickled his various spots, poking at his defenseless midriff, his tummy, sides, his ribs. All would result in a yelp here or a squeak there. How weak. How interesting...
Without saying a word, Sukuna wrecked Yuuji before yeeting him out of his domain again. For the first time in his existence he thought tickling was fun. Yuuji made it fun, and he smirked. Oh he would love to drag him here a few times more, just for a tickly appointment.
However that soon wasn't really necessary anymore when he discovered he could just possess Yuuji's arm, only his arm, while Yuuji took control over the rest of the body.
In that case, it also worked and he could tickle him successfully and make him howl.
"....What is happening?" Megumi asked when Sukuna liked to possess Yuuji's arm out of the blue so he could claw at his sensitive middle, tickling him to pieces and making him scream in front of his friend.
"NAHAHA- nothhihihiing!" Yuuji cried, struggling with the arm that was out of his control while cursing his head off at the curse inside him that was causing all this.
Yes, this nothing was definitely something, and that something could be called a tickle curse. Heh. Or just a curse. Sukuna shrugged. Also fine.
What is this worried expression for? For yuuji? Are you gay sukuna?
Thing
Sukuna doesn't like it when what's his gets called a thing.
Pairing: Sukuna x Yuuji Genre: general, a bit of angst, a bit of fluff, suggestive Word Count: 1.5k Warnings: 18+, mentions of violence, Sukuna is his usual manipulative and evil self :), unhealthy relationship dynamics, possessiveness, some suggestive things. All characters are of age. This story is 18+. Minors don't interact.

This story is based on chapter 203 of the JJK manga. But Kenjaku meets Yuuji, Megumi, etc., and tells them what he told Choso. Our dear King of Curses is watching the scene.
"As long as that thing continues to co-exist with Sukuna, the cycle of curses will never end. You won't be able to stop it."
Kenjaku looks smug as he reveals his plan to the small group of sorcerers standing in front of him.
Sukuna's fingers tighten around the skulls that function as armrests on his throne from which he is watching the scene through the pair of eyes on his vessel's cheekbones.
So far, he found it quite entertaining to see the brat and his friends fight and struggle only to run into the one who is responsible for all of this chaos. Kenjaku who happily informed them that everything was going according to his plan.
The King of Curses had smiled to himself in amusement as he leaned back on his throne and enjoyed the little show.
Until now.
Sukuna: I went through an entire character arc while trapped inside Yuuji Sukuna: I became more evil if you’re curious Yuuji: You're still in my body, don't worry, there's time for a redemption arc still! Sukuna: I’m going to get worse on purpose
Fyodor thinks of all ability users as sinner, so isn't Dazai as an anti-ability ability user a saint for him?
Fyozai headcanon Fyodor learning the warmth of touch
(it's extremely out of character)
Fyodor never experienced normal touch because the moment he touched someone they died and went stone cold
One day he's walking around in alleyways when he hears Kunikida's voice
With the frustration of his defeat(DoA) still fresh in mind he decides to kill him
As soon as he's close he starts to reach out for Kunikida but suddenly gets stopped by another hand on his wrist
While the blond starts raging to Dazai for just touching a stranger like that, Fyodor freezes in shock while being stared at by the nullifier
(Nobody from the ADA has seen Fyodor so far so Kunikida doesn't know it's him)
While Fyodor's head screams at him to not show weakness, his body acts on his own and pulls his hand away because it burns
Dazai ignores his partner in favor to grab Fyodor on his arm and pull him away
Fyodor is still too shocked about the touch to really resist
Once they're in an abandoned alley, Fyodor takes a few steps away from Dazai because he "doesn't want risking to get stabbed" (he's definitely not running away from touch)
Dazai obviously sees through and cages Fyodor on the wall, with a triumphant smirk saying "So, our little rat here is just a touch starved russian, how cute."
While Fyodor does try to get away, he fails (he didn't even give his best because he is curious about human touch)
Dazai puts a hand on Fyodor's cheek, that causes him to gasp softly because it feels so warm and Fyodor never experienced this
After a few minutes standing just like that, Dazai retreats and disappears, leaving Fyodor alone with a too fast beating heart, burning skin and scattered thoughts
Fyodor thinks about this encounter even after days and misses the touch, misses Dazai
It's a week later that Dazai suddenly stands in front of him, in his living room, that he feels at ease again
Dazai starts to slowly introduce him to touch again, visiting him every day, no questions are asked and no answers are given
Another 2 weeks of just Dazai touching his face, hands and arms later, Dazai just pulls him in a hug on the couch
It's only after one real bad attempt that Fyodor realizes that he's in love with Dazai
Fyodor not expecting it and feeling so much warmth at once for the first time is overwhelmed of the feeling and almost starts crying
Dazai starts to sing for him to calm him down (it helps surprisingly well)
It's only another week later that Dazai starts kissing him as well (always his forehead, hands, cheeks or nose, never his lips.)
Dazai starts sleeping over at his place as well, only leaving for week sometimes and for suicide attempts (they started making Fyodor anxious)
It's only after Dazai got hurt during his job that Fyodor realizes he's in love with him
And it doesn't take long after that for Dazai to kiss him on the lips. They don't say "I love you", they don't have to
Aside from the point that Shibusawa would literally start crying, Dazai and Fyodor act like parents who don't want to tell their child that their painting is ugly xD
Wait what chapter is this anthalogy on omg
It's the Dead Apple Omake :D
There's actually more in the official Omake :')
Aside from the point that Shibusawa would literally start crying, Dazai and Fyodor act like parents who don't want to tell their child that their painting is ugly xD
You can't proof me that he isn't in love with Dazai. I MEAN JUST LOOK AHHHH
