Nem's Beta Shots

This is a compilation of screenshots from my time in the Warlords of Draenor beta. Alliance side shots will all be Emani, a Draenei elemental-restoration shaman. Horde side shots will primarily be my destruction warlock, Lauranyth; though I did copy Nemeore over as well. MANY SPOILERS! If you don't want to see spoilers - don't browse here. I will also be adding my thoughts on the experience.

Crafting in the FIeld - A Test

A follower asked me if it's true that we will be able to craft anything anywhere, even if the mats are in our bank.

I took my intrepid little gnomish engineer out to see what would happen.  First, I made sure ALL her reagents were stored in the bank.  She had no ore on her whatsoever.  Then I flew out to Embaari Village, where I know there is an anvil (a thermal anvil would work fine as well - I recommend carrying one at all times if you need one for your profession).  I picked something the engineer screen said I had the mats to build and clicked Create.  Voila!  I had 5 Stealthman 54 units.

Yes, you can build anything anywhere so long as you have the mats in your bank.

Embaari Village - I believe this was after completing the Temple of Karabor questline.  I love how all the civilians and their families gather around the heroes.

Garrison stuff - rewards

There's a couple of NPCs in the garrison who dish out some little customization perks.

This guy is able to change your NPC guards to any race you are exalted with (for Pandaren it's Shado-Pan and I think DKs have the ability to get Ebon Knights with exalted.  Maybe anyone exalted with Knights of the Ebon Blade can.  I don't know.)  This may or may not also be tied to getting your barracks to level 3.

And then there's this guy, who will put some guild banners up for you if you get guild dungeon achievements.

I used the rocket from the gearworks to do some exploring, and ended up in Spires of Arak.  I am 99% sure this is the dungeon setting for Skyreach, which is the Arrakoa dungeon.  I couldn't get inside the building due to a fire wall (second picture on left - that's why it's orange). 

But doesn't it look AWESOME?

Cool Stuff for Inscription (slight ally side spoiler)

Let's face it.  Scribes don't often get a lot of COOL SHIT.  So, I'm a scribe, and I have the inscription building in my Alliance garrison.  I assigned a follower, who happens to be Admiral Taylor.  He's been there for a couple weeks, actually... doing nothing as far as I could tell.

So one day I click on him.  And I get this:

If you talk to him and give him a few pigments, every day he will make you some receipt parts.  Like, you'll get half a receipt for one thing, and half a receipt for another.  Or half a receipt for something, and a forged receipt for something else.  The receipt parts last 1 day (and I assume this to be a 24 hour real day).  He'll only make one pair, and then you have to wait until his daily CD resets (which I assume to be stupid AM server time).  So, if you happen to get him to make two sets in that day period and you get a match?  You get a merchant order worth 75 gold.  75 gold for not leaving your garrison.  If they expire for whatever reason (you didn't log in in time, or you couldn't because maintenance etc) you get a pair of expired receipts.  Put 4 of those together and you get a merchant order anyway!

YAY GOLD!  It was nice to discover this since I honestly have no idea how all the profession changes are going to affect the server economy.  (That is a whole other essay.)  It may come to the point where I'll be pretty happy to have that gold every couple of days.

Emani - Level 100 in the mail quest reward gear (except hands - never did find better hands than my 569s).  It doesn't look too bad!

Little savage.  Clear MoP influence in the pants.  Exposed midriff is kind of dumb, but I have a shield so that's less bad?

Seeing Restalaan alive again made me pretty happy.  I fangirl for lore characters, sure; but after what happened to him on our timeline it's good to see him still in the fight.

By Nagrand, Yrel has Maraad's old armor.  (This set actually looks awesome on a Draenei.  Pity my pally is Blood Elf.)

My main issue is not all that long ago (probably 2-4 days in play time for me) Yrel was in scraps in a cave in Tanaan.  I had to save her ass, and she was all scared because she had just killed for the first time.    Few days later, she's commanding ALLIANCE troops in Nagrand (and since she is AU, she's not technically part of the Alliance, in my eyes.  Alliance is an Azeroth factional organization.)

HIPPO!  (I just learned that this model is going to be available as a mount.  I think I read that you get it with apexis shards?  You know... it was one of those things I read fast while scrolling through twitter.)

And then we come to the Tauren female....

Halepaoewa - 90 Tauren hunter.

Her black mane went... blonde kind of?

Lips seem to be permanently cracked open, leaving her with a sort of derpy look.  Also, something isn't quite right with the snout.

And the worst thing... the jumping animation.  Her hands fly WAAAAAAAY up in the air over her head whenever she jumps.  All the races do this to some point now but... it's REALLY bad on the Taurens (males do it too, but fiance says it's not this bad.)

Undead 90 female warlock - Kathanadiele.

She looks more realistic?  I like the skin tone better.  I think she came out REALLY well.  Very pleased.

So I thought I would do some before and after screenies of old vs. new character models.

This is my 90 human female rogue, Amairi.  (She's supposed to be dressed like a gypsy - don't judge.)

The hair part on the Raquel style is less defined, and the freckles are... different?
