they're all revenges! i've been so spoiled with gorgeous attacks from so many incredible artists this year already. i tend to prioritise revenging people who have taken the time to do my little guys so much justice, because it means so much to me. and a lot of y'all are my friends/mutuals who beat me to an attack before i could get you first. 😂
i'm catching up on my revenges slowly but surely though. YOU 🫵👁👁 all have such stunning character designs!! every single one i've drawn so far has been an absolute delight. characters & owners are as follows:

hello everyone! i'm a queer black woman living in the west coast, and i have been struggling with my housing for quite a bit of time.
where i live, the heat can get especially intense, and with me and my family mostly living out of our car, trying to sleep during these hot nights proves to be a huge problem when the heat can reach the 100's. we're lucky to get any sleep at all sometimes
what i'm asking for is a bit of cash so that me and my family can sometimes afford to spend the night in air-conditioned hotels, even if it's just for the coming days
hotels in my town tend to cost anywhere between $150-$200 per night, and any extra funds can go towards us affording food, clothes, and other necessities
i'm only asking people who can help out, i know a lot of people are struggling, but if you see this post, please spread it around.
surviving the summer in my position is nothing short of absolute hell and if you can help me make a difference, i'd appreciate it. thanks for reading
TL;DR: it's approaching the summertime (it may as well be summer at this point) and getting sleep when you don't have a home is hard enough. i'd love some help so i can afford to sleep indoors instead of my hot car
starting wednesday, numbers are going to start looking like this! this is probably the hottest it’s ever gotten in my town and i’d do anything to stay inside during the worst of the heat wave
while this is an ambitious goal, i’m looking to collect $600 in the next few days so that me and my family can afford a hotel room (should be more than enough to avoid the worst of it)
(my sister in law’s birthday is also coming up on the tenth, and i really want her to get a good night’s rest for once)
As of this morning, The Sterling Girl is now LIVE!! MY first ever fully produced creative project is out there in the world, and you can listen to it RIGHT NOW!! 🩷⚙️✨️
✨️⚙️🩷 LINKTREE 🩷⚙️✨️
Follow the Linktree above (or in my bio) to listen to TSG on your platform of choice! RSS Podcasts (the top link) is its host website, and contains the largest selection.
A couple of extremely kind friends of mine have already given it a listen, and provided me with their thoughts and reactions in extreme detail. This absolutely delights me, and I continue to welcome it with open arms. 🥹
In general, I'm truly overwhelmed by the support I've recieved at every step of the project — conceptualising, writing, directing, editing, promotion, and now release. I feel so lucky to be surrounded by people who will drop what they're doing to lend their ears and talents to my odd little tales, and I can only hope I've delivered them a resonant, memorable experience in the finished product. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and please enjoy your time in Pigeon Heath. Maybe someday, we'll return... 👀
If you've already listened to the piece (or plan to, and will return to this post), please comment/reblog with your favourite moments, characters, lines — anything! I'd love to know what surprised you, moved you, warmed your heart, or chilled your bones.
And as always, please stay tuned for more silly and sincere bonus content! 🩷
💜🕊 Another day, another Sterling Girl character intro! Today I'm delighted to introduce Penny, voiced by the equally eloquent and sharp-witted Joss (jossthebookwyrm on Instagram!)
Penny is a highly respected, yet overlooked member of the village community. Her husband works long hours as a factory owner in the faraway City, so she has leafned to enjoy her alone time between social engagements, indulging in a trouble-free life amidst the comfort of his wealth. Her nickname was coined by Sable: her close and complicated past relationship with whom is soon to test her once again... ⚙️
Penny my beloved. Historians would say she and Sable were 'very good friends' [wink].
As with the rest of her reluctantly accrued found family, Penny will be available on my Artfight account (nemmet) next week! I'm so looking forward to participating and entrusting the Sterling Girl cast to your incredibly talented hands.
Our final character introduction arrives tomorrow! Further sneak peeks are also set to be posted before the project's release date, which is now EXACTLY A WEEK AWAY! 🤯
As always, a thousand thanks for your support, and please stay tuned! 👀
💛🥂 Next up on the Sterling Girl roster is Etta's conniving older brother Oscar — voiced by the incomparable & genuinely quite terrifying Freddie (flamemow on Instagram!)
The eldest child of the filthy-rich Sterling family, Oscar flaunts this status over others, because there’s little else to him. His favourite pastimes include hosting lavish parties when his parents are away, and making others feel small – particularly his younger sister Etta. When she suddenly changes, however, he springs into action, rallying the people of Pigeon Heath to bring the sole suspect to justice. But just what are his true motives? ⚙️
Surely this guy is chill and normal. Surely there is nothing to fear regarding his involvement in the narrative. Surely.
Once again, Oscar will be available as a character on my Artfight account in due course! If you plan to participate, please follow me there (nemmet) if you haven't already. 🎨
I hope you've enjoyed meeting the cast so far — I absolutely cannot wait for you to hear them in action. Stay tuned for our last two players in the next two days! 👀
❤️🔨 I probably need to figure out a more consistent posting schedule for this account, but doing things on a whim like this feels a lot more Sable-esque. And what do you know, the toymaker herself is up next — voiced by yours truly, @nemmet!
The once beloved toymaker of Pigeon Heath, Sable disappeared from the public after a grave, yet little-remembered incident. Despite living half the life she used to, Sable maintains a playful, roguish spirit, continuing to craft beautiful and macabre works of art with every scrap of metal, wood and cloth she can find. When the behaviour of Etta Sterling suddenly shifts, all signs point to her wicked craftsmanship... but is she the true culprit? ⚙️
I cannot begin to tell you how bonkers crazy it's been to realise my dreams of profesionally directing, writing, and voice acting all in one go with this project. Sable is a little piece of me on every level; one I hope you'll laugh and cry along with come July 5th.
And just like her dear friend Etta, she'll be available as a character on my Artfight account when the event rolls around! 🎨
We're halfway through the main cast now — stay tuned for the reveal of our last two players this weekend! 👀
🩷🩰 For the next few days, I'll be introducing the main cast of The Sterling Girl! Up first is our titular character Etta, voiced with beautiful, gentle courage by the one and only Selby (the.creative.block on Instagram!)
The youngest, dearest child of the high-class Sterling family. Deemed tragically asocial and unaffectionate by her worried parents, Etta tries her hardest to present a quiet, poised and polite front for others. However, her strange smiles and wandering eyes of late have struck fear into the hearts of her community. Are they witnessing the same Etta Sterling… or a mechanical replacement crafted by an infamous witch? ⚙️
As these characters belong to the realm of audio, I want to stress that my designs for them are NOT an absolute! If you picture the characters slightly differently while listening to the piece, that's something I'd love to see/hear about. Just like steampunk, there's no 'wrong' way to engage (unless, y'know, you're being hateful)!
I'm also excited to announce that you'll be able to attack the cast of The Sterling Girl this coming ARTFIGHT! I'm nemmet over there — let's connect if we haven't already! 🎨
That's all for now! Stay tuned to meet the rest of our players in the coming days... 👀

(Continued from Part One)
Within my story, I ultimately wished to confront, explore, and possibly reclaim this troubling history, analysing which aspects of it still permeate autistic experiences despite progress in research and understanding. I think it's fascinating that autistic lives can be recognised in fairytales & folklore dating back so far in time — we have always been here, navigating this world not built for us, even if the way we have been recognised and represented has not always been kind. Revisiting that past and reclaiming our voices within it can be traumatic, but also cathartic and incredibly necessary.
For my own unique take on the changeling child myth, I chose to blend it with robots, another non-human entity historically compared unfavourably to autistic people. Within my narrative – inspired heavily by Steampunk and the Victorian era – I sought to question what deeming someone a ‘robot’ really means, and what it says about our views on (and fears of) autonomy, agency and individuality, particularly in times where rapid technological progress is fundamentally altering the world we live in.
I adore writing and engaging with fantastical allegories. While I recognise the importance of creating more explicit and direct autistic representation, this is very much my niche, and one I hope others will find meaning in. All my life, I’ve escaped into imagined worlds in order to make sense of the hostile and confusing one I live in, and I’m ecstatic to contribute something to that practice. Just as my favourite stories have given me comfort and strength, I hope The Sterling Girl will leave you feeling seen, hopeful, or just a little more empathetic.
The Sterling Girl is a 50-minute standalone audio drama. It was written, and directed, and acted in by myself, alongside a fantastically talented cast of fellow autistic actors. The piece will be available to stream on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts come JULY 5TH, 2026. I hope you’ll look forward to it! PART TWO
This is an abridged version of my initial pitch essay I wrote for university. The changeling child myth is what inspired me to undertake this project in the first place, and I knew this post would be essential for conveying why it evokes so much passion in me. I hope you enjoy it — maybe you'll learn something new!
Including but not limited to: the release date! That's right, release is set for July 5th, 2026. I am so near completion on editing the piece, and I absolutely cannot wait for you all to hear it.
The biggest, sincerest THANK YOU to everyone who has followed this account and supported me thus far. Please look forward to more information and previews coming soon! ⚙️🎀
(PS: As this is my first post of this kind, feedback on formatting, conciseness and things of that nature is encouraged and appreciated!)

What are 'Changeling Children'?
Content warning: This post contains references to child abuse & ableism. Please take care!
‘Changeling children’ feature in a series of historical myths and legends, largely dating back to pre-scientific societies. These narratives see a “normal” human child abducted by a supernatural creature such as a goblin or fairy, and replaced with one of their own kind — much to the horror and grief of their parents.
The replacement child is “characterised by unresponsiveness, resistance to physical affection, obstreperousness, inability to express emotion, and unexplained crying and physical changes”. (Leask, et al, 2005: 271). For many, this description resonates with what we now know about autism.
As a parent, realising that your child is disabled in a time where psychological research and social support were practically nonexistent must have been shocking, difficult and isolating, hence the turn to folklore for an explanation. However, this does not excuse the harrowing real-life cases of physical abuse against suspected ‘changelings’, as seen in 19th century court records (Ashliman, 1997).
The changeling child myth has always fascinated and haunted me. There is something so painfully resonant, even to this day, about the sentiment of: “you are growing up so incorrectly that you must not be human”. As a late diagnosed autistic person who took comfort in relating to robots and fairies before I found the terminology to understand myself, it hits especially hard.
The majority of real and fictional changeling child accounts focus on the grief of the parents whose child has suddenly changed. A foremost aim of my work on The Sterling Girl was to instead centre the experience of Etta, the twelve-year-old girl (allegedly) “replaced”, and her reclamation of her own humanity in a paranoid society that will do anything to deny it to her.
