I'm back with theories I guess...
For some reason this came into my head. Pulled it straight outta my ass but hear me out.
Slight spoilers for chapter 2 and spoilers for chapter 1.
Since they will be discussed, rules 7 and 8 are highlighted.
So, in episode 12 of chapter 2, remember when Charles mentioned that Whit bashed his head in the wall and dented it in the computer lab?
Teruko pointed out that it was against the rules (see rule 7), and MonoTV said that it let it slide. Though it was an lol moment, it got me thinking about that rule in particular, and that Whit wasn't the first one to break it.
It was Xander.
In episode 3 of chapter 1, the cast had an arm-wrestling contest to determine who was the strongest, and Xander won this contest by, ya know, breaking an entire table.
Also a gag moment (Ace screaming his head off will never not be funny), but I thought this would be considered breaking the rules, even when I watched it the first time. The damage to that table would be what I consider "significant property damage", and we can assume that it wasn't eligible for being waived, since the damage wasn't from actively committing murder.
So, it got me thinking. The circumstances around Xander's death were strange. Because of the cause of death and the murder weapon, it seemed like Xander was killed by the killing game facilities rather than Min being the one to murder him. So here's my theory.
What if Xander wasn't murdered by Min, but indirectly killed by MonoTV as punishment for breaking the rules?
The only thing that could possibly disprove this is the gap between the table being broken and Xander's death, which was about two days. But, according to rule 8, MonoTV will never directly commit a murder. So, is it possible for MonoTV to indirectly do so and set up someone else? What if MonoTV witnessed Xander's failed murder plan and decided to intervene by killing him instead, using Min's involvement to frame her as the killer?
If you're wondering how MonoTV can intervene without being present, it was stated in episode 16 of chapter 2 that MonoTV can control the killing game with the building's electronic systems.
That, most likely, includes the light switch in which Xander was killed from.
By saying this, I'm not minimizing Min's involvement here. She did indeed throw water on him and strip the light switch. She just never used the "murder weapon", AKA the light switch, so I find it odd that Min was considered the killer.
I have so many other "what ifs" for this scenario, but I'm not gonna spill them out here because they don't make as much sense. Take this with a grain of salt if you will.
