Observation Deck of the Nautilus | A planet at the edge of the universe (Time and Space ripping apart)

Some environment work! The eye shaped porthole was one of the early ideas I had, before I even had a chance to read the book haha. It started out as one eye, and i ended up with a few more and some detailing to be reminiscent of one of my favorite pieces of astrophotography, the collision of the NGC 2207 and IC 2163 galaxies!

The second piece challenged me to think about what a celestial equivalent to traveling to Antarctica in like the 1860s-70s. The sort of mystery and intrigue and sheer distance it calls for. I ended up with a planet at the edge of where expansion currently is, slowly being pulled apart as the universe literally grows around and through it, ultimately spiraling in on itself! It always comes back to rocky landscapes tho. Always the rocks. I hope I at least made them interesting!

I wasn’t supposed to include characters in these, but I had an early 30 minute mock up with Nemo and Aronnax 💖

My Nautilus design… I wanted to try a different spin on it looking like a creature roaming about space, and after several attempts at making a whale-based designs I ended up on a big space Dragon. Dunno if I saw this out in space I certainly wouldn’t pick a fight
