Max and Milo are 4 year-old Collie/BMDs that were unbelievably abandoned by their owner who just left them outside. I gave them a bath to remove 4 years of dirt (they could use another one). Afterward I took them out to dry... and to enjoy a few cheeseburgers. (at Friendship Animal Protective League)

Downspout was rescued by an Elyria resident after getting stuck in a drain pipe. Soaking wet and shivering, we cleaned the poor kitten up and started treating for a little cold. (at Friendship Animal Protective League)

I picked up Kahlua from Brooklyn Animal Control this morning. She is an 11 year old Husky that has been bounced around over the last couple of years. She is very sweet and still has lots of love to give to a family! (at Cascade Park)

I truly love capturing feral cats in what has become their natural habitat. I know some people are resistant to accepting these guys as fixtures of our community and see them as little more than nuisances. I find them an amazing and beautiful part of our ecosystem.

Quarry may be missing a leg but you can't tell when she is running around chasing a string from my sweatshirt. You can see she still tries to use her missing leg when she is playing, but she is catching on quickly.

Photo op for Doug after going to Doud's for a check up. He had surgery a week or two ago for a glandular issue that was causing massive swelling. He had some more fluid drained and is doing better. Got yelled at for going into what appeared to be an abandoned barn for the picture. Oops!

Our foster kitty Quarry and me both spend a day recovering at home today.

Serena enjoys what is I am sure her first ice cream cone. Hopefully it will provide a little relief to her mouth or at the very least a distraction. (at Krieg's It'z the Berries Frozen Custard)

Molly stares at the beautiful picture of a dog raised by a loving family... Molly spent the first 9 years of her life in a 2' x 2' cage in a puppymill producing puppies for those portraits. (at Main Street Amherst Ohio)

Just needed to rescue a healthy, issue free, good old-fashioned mutt today... So I ran over to the Lorain County Dog Kennels and pulled Buster Brown from their ovecrowded facility (not that we are empty @friendshipapl by any stretch of the imagination). (at Ohio, Elyria)

Update: This baby girl is still recovering from her surgery last night. She had the lose skin that was hanginging from the injury to her lip and the rest cleaned up and stitched. I hate to wake her up. She had such an ordeal over the past 24 hours. I will get her a special treat on the way back to Friendship. She earned it! We found this poor dog left in one our temporary cages we use for cats behind the shelter. She had that chain hanging from her neck (thankfully they left us the key). The left half of her lip is completely torn and infected. She will spend some time with the good doctors at the emergency clinic. I just don't understand this world anymore... Happy Fourth of July from Quarry! She continues to heal. I was hoping she would have been in her foster home to celebrate the weekend, but she will need a couple more days at the vets. (at Fox Veterinary Hospital Inc.)

4 hours round trip. 2 days in a row. 3 dogs treated for heartworm (including Lula here). 1 incredibly kind veterinarian... priceless. (at Huntsburg Township)

The best kept Secret in Ohio. This 8 year-old Sphinx came to Friendship APL today. Secret was in a home with 6 other cats. His owner thinks that due to his needy nature, he would be better off as an only cat. He is fully declawed and well... hairless. He would do best in a quiet home as an only pet.
