every time i see leftists try to do Woke Orientalism about how inherently progressive islam is, how revolutionary and peaceful hinduism and buddhism are or how important catholicism and liberation theology is for the global south in general and how one good instance of religion is a proof of how marxism is actually wrong it just drives me crazy like shut up shut up shut up you dont know anything. for decades, religion and religious groups across the global south/third world received enormous funding, especially from the west, specifically aiming to prevent the spread of socialist movements and destroy any hope of freedom
