┌ She quickly turned away from the gaze on her mother to wipe away a few droplets that escaped from her tearful eyes. Chibiusa was certain that something was out there lurking, just waiting to come to the surface and put them all in danger again. But she wanted to be brave in front of her mother… She couldn’t even bare to look at her mother right now, embarrassment upon being scared. She wanted to set an example, show that she wasn’t a crybaby, able to be worthy enough to rule a kingdom in the future, to be a good senshi, strong and brave. Just like the other sailors. ┐

❝I'm s—so sorry mama. I know I m—m-ust not cry. I— I have to b—be brave!❞

┌ She paused as she continued to choke over her words, rubbing her eyes some more she slowly turned her head, keeping her eye level fixated away. ┐

{ ☪ } ━┈ It broke her heart to see her daughter cry. Serenity continued to hold her shoulders and let a small moment of silence pass between them. "Usagi," she urged looking straight at her daughter despite the childs face being turned away. "It's okay to cry," she said then rubbing her thumb across Chibiusa's face.

"Strength drives from fear," she added trying to soothe her. "Once upon a time I was a big crybaby," she chuckled at the memory. "I couldn't go a day without crying about something," her voice was soft. "Yes you have to be brave at times but being brave doesn't mean you can't have fear. Being brave is having the courage to rise above that fear..." Serenity then brought her into a hug. "Do you understand?"

In the Night

Once again it seemed that his queen had wandered off on him, leaving Endymion in a state of worry. She was usually at his side so in instances like this it tended to worry the dark haired male. He began to walk down the winding hallways of the Palace, his sapphire hues in search of Serenity. Hopefully she hadn’t gotten herself lost again.

Somehow Endymion highly doubted it. She was probably trying to avoid meetings and such which he could not blame her for. The speeches were often long and boring, taking up a good majority of the day for the two of them. But if they didn’t attend them surely it would mean something bad. As he finally reached the garden he heard a familiar voice, a smile creeping up on his lips. "An odd time for a swim, don’t you think?" The king asked calmly, knowing she was probably going to be nothing short of shocked that he had found her so quickly. The floral scent wafted into his nostrils, soothing his nerves which had been haywire mere moments ago. The king found himself captivated by the beauty of his queen as rainbow beams hit her porcelain colored skin, giving her an angelic sort of beauty. It was quite difficult not to stare, to just enjoy the moment and lose himself in it.

{ ☪ } ━┈ His voice startled her. Serenity was quick to hide her exposed body but panic forced her instincts into a frenzy. Without thinking the queen forced herself deeper into the water suddenly and the icy pool was enough to send her shooting back to a stand. "Aaah!" she let out in a shiver. "S-s-so c-c-old!" she managed through chattering teeth. Her cheeks flushed red with embarrassment but Serenity had enough sense to turn and see her king standing awe struck beside the pool.

Endymion's eyes were fixed on her as if he was gazing into the stars. Serenity could feel his pull on her instantly. The deep blue of his pupils was like the vast night sky. They were endless and full at the same time. She smiled faintly at him and chuckled. "I've been caught," her smile was playful. "But how could I resist? Look." she said cupping a small jasmine flower. "They smell so goood!" by now the water didn't seem so cold.

Serenity let her arms down and she faced her king. "Would my king care for a moon light swim?" she asked, her brow rising as if challenging him.

"Mamo-chan... is it really you?"

"Of course it is, Usako. Unless I have some long lost twin I don’t know about." The raven haired male responded as he approached, not hesitating to pull her into a gentle hug. It had been awhile since they had last seen eachother and so he couldn’t blame her for being skeptical."I missed you.." He murmured softly.

His embrace was warm. Usako… it had a nice ring to it. When was the last time anyone made any reference to her still being Usagi? It had been too long. She pressed her cheek into his chest and gave a nuzzle. “Ne! I thought being husband and wife meant spending our lives together,” she whined. “I miss you too much these days,” her pout was obvious.

"It does mean spending our lives together." He said with a soft chuckle, the sound warm and inviting. It did seem that they did not get as much time together as of late, especially with all of their meetings going on but that was part of being the King and Queen of the Moon Kingdom. "We’ve just been weighed down with meetings lately. Perhaps tomorrow we can spend the whole day together, no meetings at all. How does that sound?"

Her ear pressed against his chest and she could hear his heartbeat. It was slow, steady and strong. Serenity closed her eyes allowing the soft rhythm sink into her mind. Her arms wrapped around Endymion's neck then and she inhaled a deep breath of his scent. Her eyes fluttered open, glancing upwards in a childish manner. ",,,You have to promise," she huffed slightly, "No meeting, no politics, just us," Serenity bit her lower lip. "Yes?"
