What different types of fairy kei are there~? Like, how OTT or understated can it be and still be considered fairy kei~?

I’ve put together a few examples for you!

Casual Fairy Kei :   They’re all cute and casual, but they’re still fairy kei! They don’t stand out as much, but they use subtle pastel colours and still add volume to their skirts, and add cute accessories!

Fairy Kei :   These are what I’d say are your typical fairy kei! They have puffy skirts or brightly coloured skirts, bright pastel colours and lots of layers ! Cute accessories and legwear are super important here! You can wear natural hair still, as well as wigs !

Decora/OTT Fairy Kei:   Then there’s decora/OTT fairy kei ! This is usually made by adding toooonns of cute accessories to your outfit, or having it a bit more bright and over the top compared to normal fairy kei outfits!

Also it has decora aspects, such as layered socks, different patterns etc~

There are lots of other ways to add a bit (or a lot) of fairy kei to your outfits! Fairy lolita, creepy cute and even some shironuri all add in parts of fairy kei!

I hope that helps you understand fairy kei and it’s different styles a bit more !
