I have pastel blue straight leg jeans and I wear them with fairy-kei. Recently, I have been seeing that you shouldn't wear jeans with fairy-kei but I think my outfits still look cute and fairy. Is this ok?
Sorry for the late reply!
It depends on the jeans but I think it can be quite hard to incorperate them and still achieve the soft, dreamy look for fairy. (Eg: A pastel sweater and plain straight/skinny jeans wouldn’t have the soft floaty look, even if it’s a cute outfit!)
“Mom jeans” are popular with Spank! inspired looks, and adding patches can really add to the retro fancy look!
(See these posts for ref: Ripped jeans in fairy // Long pants in fairy)
Note: I’m not trying to gatekeep or anything! I’m just talking honestly abt the aesthetic and want to help people achieve that floaty dreamy look ♡
Do you know what happened to the brand Kokokim? Kimura Yu launched the brand and closed her shop shortly after? I can't find any info about it.
Her style changed and it evolved into Kawaiiholic!
I was looking at the chart you posted a while back about the different types of kawaii but I couldn't seem to figure this out. What kind of kawaii would be closest to pastel goth? I thought maybe yamikawaii or gurokawaii/kowakawaii but after looking into both of them neither seem to fit.
I don’t think Kowakawaii is a commonly usedname but you’re probably thinking of “creepy cute” which was a western coined style (iirc - I never saw any Japanese people actively use the term even though they wore similar looks) based on some of the Harajuku trends of the time. It combined Guro and Kawaii and was popular after Kyary became famous. She was famous for her guro-kawa style, wearing eyeball bows and creepy prints with cute colours.
Creepy Cute is definitely soft and kawaii-influenced while still using black, so I would suggest looking into that! Yamikawaii is probably the closest current style, since it combines dreamy and yami prints. It isn’t actually a form of goth though, it’s just a black Harajuku fashion with dark motifs.
I hope that helps!

I'm having a bit of a Time at the moment because I've only just gotten into the fairy-kei style, and I've fallen in love with the infamous Cotton Candy milklim sweater -- only to discover that the main milklim website (the one you mentioned in your "how to order from milklim" guide all those years ago) is completely gone, and the sweater is nowhere to be found! This might be a bit of a long shot, but do you have any advice for my situation? I'm honestly desperate for it! agh!
Yep, sadly milklim is long gone 😭
But you can easily find it secondhand online!
Fairy Kei Sales on Facebook
Mercari or Fril/Rakuma (forwarding service required - Tenshi is recommended for beginners)
Depop
Also if somebody is claiming it’s super rare and charging $80-$100+ for it, don’t pay it - It usually goes for between $30 and $60 💖
Good luck!
