Do you have any hard rules about what rp is abd isn’t allowed? Like owning legendaries or witnessing canon events? Sorry if this is a stupid question by the way I’m just very used to warrior cats rp forums which get run like the fucking navy 😭

Steel Type doesn't focus much on my Pokémon OC, a Gym Leader named Stahl. Instead, it focuses on steel type Pokémon! I'm slowly writing care-guides for every steel type, written as Stahl who specializes in that type.
Stahl does have a little personal journal section on the site, but it's rarely used.
Focusing on world building is probably my best suggestion. That, or just looking at a ton of personal sites and mimic how real people talk about themselves and how they use their sites.
Your character is a berry farmer? Maybe talk a ton about berries & share berry based recipes.
Maybe they're a Pokémon breeder and talk about caring for newly hatched Pokémon.
A trainer doing the gym challenge might blog about the friends they meet, keep a battle win/lose tracker, brag about how cool their Pokémon are or share travel tips!
A backpacker might share info about their favorite hiking trails! A Pokémon Ranger would likely share safety tips!
I think focusing on expanding canon trainer classes is probably a good starting place.

Hey, is this blog still active?
I really like the idea of rping as a pokemon trainer, maybe on a sideblog, and I like playing around a lot with markup so I think there's a possibility I could try to become a member.
The only issue is, I find rotomblr really comfortable as a host site since liveposting is pretty easy. Would you still accept a blog hosted on rotomblr? Or would I have to use neoskitties/host my own site?

That's a very interesting question! I think "upholding the past" can be a great way of expressing yourself in a way modern social media restricts! You can make anything you want, so long as you have the skills to do so!
If the past makes you more creative or allows you to have more fun, then I think bringing it into the present is a wonderful idea! - Homura
This is a revival, preservation and modernization of a dying hobby! I wouldn't consider it upholding the past but if that's how you see it then my answer is "why wouldn't you want to uphold the past?" The past is a huge part of who we are as humans and as Pokémon! - Stahl
