He brings his hand up to his mouth and laps at the thick coating of blood dripping off his fingers onto the floor and his shirt. The scarlet stains his lips and chin, makes a splatter painting of his white shirt, and splashes his shoes. He licks his lips when his hand is clean and smiles, showing the points of his teeth.

Everything was blurry, hazed with red and yellow and the smell of rot and poison. It was very much unpleasant, and Alexia wanted to do something about it, but… What did she want to do, again? What was bothering her? Why was her vision all strange? Why would it be any other way? a voice that wasn’t hers whispered. She groaned and clutched her head in her hands… wait, no, she didn’t. What? Clark stepped forward and placed a hand on Liam’s shoulder, letting the warmth of his skin sink into the younger's teen’s, green eyes concerned. “‘Ey,” he said, cupping Liam’s cheek in his other hand and turning the dark-haired boy’s face to his, “it’s gonna be fine, you’ll see. Magdelena’s gonna work ‘er magic and we’re gonna get ya sister back, and everythin’ll work out, ye’ll see.” Liam let out a shuddering breath and turned his face into Clark’s palm.
