My biggest issue with Misha Collins, aside from the slurs and racism and sexual harassment, is that he feels so comfortable profiting off of queerness when his knowledge around it doesn’t go beyond surface level pandering.
Besides the fact that he doesn’t seem to understand that Castiel can’t possibly be gay because he isn’t a man but a genderless entity, which would make his relationships queer not gay; the worst offence was his fake coming out as bisexual for attention and monetary gain. That’s so disrespectful to people who are actually queer.
yeah sammy we can go to disneyland

Benny and Dean’s friendship felt real because there’s actual chemistry between the characters and actors. Its progression is natural and well paced, with some drama thrown in there but you can tell even in those few episodes that they deeply cared about one another. They respected each other and the relationship that they built in purgatory as well as outside created a profound and strong bond between them. There’s a complicity between them that we haven’t seen from Dean outside of his relationship with Sam — which is one of the reasons why Sam felt so threatened by him. Benny was Dean’s best friend, no doubt about it.
Which is why when I hear people say that Castiel was Dean’s best friend I get a bit… confused ? Dean barely tolerated Castiel for most of the show. He kept it around because it was useful and he felt like he owed it for pulling his ass out of hell but beyond that ? Their relationship doesn’t feel organic.
Castiel’s presence feels forced after s6-7 and so is its “friendship” with Dean. If Supernatural was consistent, Dean would have never allowed Castiel to be breathe, let alone do it in their vicinity, after it broke Sam’s wall. He would have realised that Castiel was just another Ruby, or Azazel if you look at what it did to the Novaks. It makes Dean look dumb and irresponsible, to be honest, when he’s nothing of the sort.
Dean trusting Benny makes sense because there’s a loyalty there that doesn’t exist with Castiel. Furthermore the way that Benny acts makes sense with his character. He’s not going to wake up one day and decide to go work for the enemy and betray Dean (because he’s not an idiot). But Castiel does that, it claims to love the Winchesters but overall it has done more harm than good to them.
TLDR: Benny deserves to be called Dean’s best friend because it’s what he actually was.
Dean Winchester is straight because he sees Sam as a woman and it wouldn’t even cross his mind as gay if he fucked him
If they ever make s16 of supernatural I think they have no choice but to let Castiel rot wherever he is. Bring him back for a short cameo and then forget about him so we can focus on what is really important: Sam and Dean adapting to heaven before getting throw into some bullshit again. Imagine a rogue faction of angels still resenting Sam kidnapping him, hiding him in another universe or something like that. Jack is unavailable, sick and out of commission. Castiel, dead. And Dean has to find him, no rest for the wicked or whatever. I would watch that, otherwise keep it we don’t need the “found family festival 2.0”.
It could be an opportunity to learn more about John and Mary as well as let the Winchesters properly close the wounds they still have.
there's no incest subtext in supernatural because its just the TEXT. You unpause the show at any given moment and they're eye-fucking
"Sammy, I get all tingly when you take control like that" WHAT
Fuck me this show is SO much gayer than I remember what the actual fuck I can't believe that's an actual line this man said to his BROTHER! With a cheeky little smile too omg someone sedate me
john winchester: yes my sons are close, no they're not 'too close'. you don't understand, dean would die for that kid and im so proud of him for that. they truly understand the value of family and protecting one another. at least when I hunt I have full trust that dean will always put sams safety first. always. yes they may not have any other friends, but they have each other and that's what's most import-
hunter who will never willingly be in contact with john again: yeah uh, I think dean is molesting sam.
Dude wasn't even trying to beat those allegations
Dean Winchester is unable to have healthy romantic relationships when Sam is in his life and vice versa. They’re ready to drop their partners at the drop of a hat for each other. But apparently they’re not emotionally incestuous.
When put into an alternate universe where they work in corporate we see the plot of many office romances evolve between Sam and Dean before Zachariah gives them their memory back. But apparently they’re not emotionally incestuous.
Dean’s siren was his little brother, you know the monster who tricks its victim with sexual attraction.
Sam had sex with a demon that was mimicking his brother to get to him, and admitted to Dean. Nothing incestuous to see here.
Heaven, Hell, their friends, their partners, therapists, monsters, side characters etc… talk about them like they’re a couple or straight up say they’re incestuous. But apparently there is no incest in supernatural.
Dean tries to involve Sam in his sex life to the point of offering to have sex with another duo of sisters together. But no incest !
And the list goes on and on and on and on… but there is no incest in supernatural, apparently.
I can’t take anybody who ignores the blatant emotional incest between Sam and Dean seriously on mischaracterization. That’s a core part of their dynamic.
the night before standford
every old interview of them looks like the intro to a porn that needed a little interview of jared saying he consented
i love sick codependent sam. wdym you were willing to murder people for the rest of your life, harvest their organs and sew them into your brother? so that he can stay alive and you dont have to live without him
Sam as a character needs something to believe in, it’s very central to his character. As a kid, that was family and God. As a teen, it was just Dean and God. At Stanford, it was just God. Different parts of his life he had different faiths, but I think in the end it was just Dean. In a way, Dean is akin to Sam’s God. (For a very small period of time, it was himself).
