It had been a while since op had seen nero in their universe, though the interaction had led to her wanting to try on different outfits, and here she was! She managed to find stuff in a old abandoned tech themed store.
This of course meant she would be “naked” for a moment, though due to being a drone and her design, the only thing really out was her boobs for the moment as she tried to pick a good outfit
“Hmm…”
Nero had managed to get away from playing Minecraft on the computer her work in the server room and had some free time to herself! She decided to go and visit Op since it had been quite a while since they last spoke to each other, so the IT tech assumed that the other drone was where they met before. Unfortunately, it didn't cross her mind to knock before poking her head in to see Oprcubhmms minus her clothing.
"Hey Op, are ya'- Oh-"
Her screen was immediately flushed with silver gradient while almost violently looking away and covering her eyes, already heavily apologizing while her core rattled.
"Sh-Shit, sorry! I didn't know y'were changin'! Sorry!"
"Ugh." Snow was brushed off a skirt as powder pink hair that faded to black at the tips was tossed over her shoulder. Her hair was out of its usual ponytail, while her uniform was... the same. She'd had practice that day. "This whole weirdo stuff going on at school better calm down. I hate getting teleported and tossed around."
Her orange eye-lights drifted around. It looked like home... Buuuuut considering she'd ended up under the lake ice once... She sighed and started walking, looking around to see what she could see.
( @b-free :3 )
From what the drone could see, she seems to have been sent just a few yards out from a bunker door and next to a rusted out car. Some floodlights were on and shone onto the ground in front of the door, illuminating the well-trodden path to and from the large and bulky entrance. Other than that, things seemed awfully calm!
Prev.
"Right this way then, Ma'am!"
Nero pointed down the corridor and began to lead Melody once more, folding up her makeshift map of The Colony itself and holding onto it for the time being. She also seemed to be noticeably happier knowing that the shop didn't shut down entirely!
You ever thought about what it would feel like to have your clock speed reduced and your ram reduced to a few megabytes?
"I think y'just described t'me what a lobotomy is like... Either that or I c'n never multitask again."
Hiya Nero i made oil cookies!
@nate-eliott
"Oh cool! Are they uh... good'n all?"
There's was a series of small knocks coming from the server room. Upon opening, Nero would see a familiar black figure.
Spectre opened her eyes, smiling at Nero.
"Hello."
Nero's eye light flickers slightly as she stares in disbelief, merely just standing at the door to the server room. If that shadow girl is here and last time wasn't some weird dream, then...
"Wait, yer real?"
Smooth.
Prev.
"Y'have people who clean for you?"
Oh man, is she rich or something? Rubbing the back of her head a bit, Nero pushed the thought away as she started to respond to Spectre while making sure there wasn't anything too embarrassing up on screen.
"I mainly just uh... help fix th'tech and maintain the servers in the Colony while makin' sure nothing's trying t'hack us. Nothing real crazy..."
"Oh no, not for me. It's more just my wives like cleaner spaces." Her eyes looked away. "And Cynthia says she does it for 'efficiency.'"
"So, hacking huh? Is that a real worry?"
Nero tilted her hand from side to side with a bit of a shift in her shoulders.
"Kinda? More'f a just in case scenario really. Worst I think I've seen was when someone was piratin' a box set of a cooking show?"
"Hmm, noted." Spectre cocked her head to the side. "Question. What outpost is this?"
"I think th' WDF call it something else, but I know it as The Colony! Y'know, since I work for CITS?"
Nero opened one of the drawers at her station and picked up a slightly worn out ID card with her beaming face on it, reading "Nero: Head of Colony Information Technology Services" next to it.
REBLOG if you're alright with interacting with someone who isn't interested in shipping or smut.
Not everyone in the rpc is a shipper or their muses are on the Aro/Ace spectrum ; I observe there are some muns (especialy eith female or female presenting muses) may feel intimidated by the idea that they need to engage in shipping to get interactions

Some floodlights were on and shone onto the ground in front of the door, illuminating the well-trodden path to and from the large and bulky entrance. Other than that, things seemed awfully calm!
"Oh, that's better than being out here." There was a soft sigh as she stepped toward the doors, knowing they looked familiar... but there was a couple differences. The mini-mural was missing, and so was the snapped skateboard 'effigy'.
She wondered if Thad knew what an 'effigy' was before she shrugged it off.
"Goofy ass jock will be bugged later. For now..." She headed over, knocking hard on the door as she assumed it was thick as hell like the one back home.
The metal door was, in fact, thick as hell as she knocked on it, the sound of a car alarm's chirp coming from somewhere within as oscillating lights announced its opening sequence. This bunker seemed to only have two thick doors layered onto each other, showing a nervous looking drone of unknown model desperately talking to a Worker. They had brown twintails and seemed a bit more lanky than most, having an old backpack with many patches on it, while the other had a pair of shades and short silver hair.
"-nd'm tellin' you that I don't wanna be out there! Y'know how bad I get outside th' Bunker!"
'Robogod, fine Nero, you don't have to go scavenge! You can just uh... talk to this drone who got here!'
Melody raised a brow. The lights were new. Her arms crossed as her hair was flipped over her shoulder. "Hi~ I might be a little lost." A sweet smile rested on her painted lips as she stepped forward. "Hope I'm not too much trouble, showing up like this?"
"N-Not at all! No trouble that'm aware of, right?"
She turned to where the other drone previously was to help back her up, but sighed instead after realizing he had just left her alone with a completely new person. Forced social interaction, Nero's one of many nightmares! She looked really pretty too... in a preppy kind of way! Usually that meant that the likelihood of taunts were high...
"Are uh, you from this bunker or 'nother one?"
"I think it's more like another version of this bunker." A finger was twirling an end of her hair. "I mean... it's all familiar and stuff, it's just... different, yanno?" She almost looked like she was pouting, but it was more like she was thinking as she stepped closer. Her skirt swished side to side, and she shrugged. "Oh well. I guess I just need to wait. I'm Melody, by the way." She gave a little wink, the orange of her visor making a little cute star with the action.
Different bunker it is then!
"I'm Nero... Nice t'meet ya!"
Her face betrayed her nervousness as there were already small pictures of clip art sweat drops in the corner of her visor, hesitating to hold a hand out to shake Melody's. Drones still do handshakes, right? Hopefully there wasn't some weird and convoluted greeting system she missed out on like with some of the WDF members... Her blue and white camo cargo pants seemed to somewhat match the beige top she had on, the text on it reading Sounds illegal, I'm in heavily contrasting how this girl was acting right now.
Melody was fine with shaking hands, smiling as she did so and then crossing her arms. "So. Show me around maybe?" She sauntered a little closer, smirking a bit, though not in amusement. She just seemed like a smirker.
"Y-Yeah, I c'n do that!"
She can do that, right? The other guy left already, so it's not like she could get out of it anyways... Nero's visor gained a few silver blush lines as Melody sauntered up towards her, the IT tech stumbling a little as she began to lead the way. Looks like she's easy to fluster... and to catch off guard!
"There's th' auditorium, the mess hall, the medical bay, offic's, server room... but where did you wanna go first? I think there's a map somewhere..."
"You got shops?" This was cute. She was smiling softly, amused at the nerdy drone that was guiding her. Melody was sure to follow along, knowing that getting lost was not a great idea. It might have been like home, but it was not home.
Nero nodded as she moved the backpack to the front of her torso, unzipping it and rummaging through it. From the sounds of it, there seemed to be various mystery objects within, consisting of wrappers and hard plastics, before pulling out a crumpled and colored paper which had a map on it.
"Uhhhh yeah! Looks like there's some ov'r... this way?"
She pointed down a hall as a few drones walked by, not really taking any notice of Nero as she led Melody to a closed shutter. Clearly, the clip art of the black squiggly at the top of her visor showed that this wasn't supposed to happen.
"Wh-When'd this place close?!"
"Awe." Melody was just a bit disappointed, arms crossed and pouting at the shutter herself. Here she had thoughts on what she was going to do to kill time. "Well fuck... that's so lame."
"Looks like there's a note though..."
Nero tilted the piece of paper that was stuck to the shutters up a little to read it. This was one of the few shops in The Colony that had the good AA batteries too! Oh, wait a second...
"Huh... 'parrently all they did was move down farther along here! Still wanna visit it?"
There's was a series of small knocks coming from the server room. Upon opening, Nero would see a familiar black figure.
Spectre opened her eyes, smiling at Nero.

Spectre blinks.
"Uh... last I checked, yeah?" She shrugs. "But I kinda get the reaction, so no worries there."
This time she lets herself in, moving around Nero and being sure not to touch the poor thing.
"Oh... 'msorry-"
Sure sounds like something a digital hallucination would say... Nero obliged and wracked her mind to what Spectre had even come to her for beforehand. Something about some hardware..?
"You uh, lookin' for a hard drive or something similar? I think that's what y'were here for last time."
"No, not this time."
Spectre walked up to the computer and brushed her hand along the keyboard.
"I just wanted to talk. You've got a lotta older tech and stuff, and I don't really find another person with those interests often."
Oh Robogod, the proverbial trigger to get Nero to start drowning others in information just got pulled! Which was really weird this early on in a conversation in her eyes as she carefully stared at Spectre, wary of what to say next.
"Uhhhh huh... I mean, m'job is kinda surrounded by the stuff too, b-but I don't mean that I hate it or nothin'!"
Spectre just smiled. She didn't appear to judge Nero's response, for better or worse.
"It's cool, isn't it? I get modern tech and its appearance, but there's just something so nice about tactile buttons and console windows."
"Cause it's nice t'actually see what you're doin' with console windows! Plus each button has a function n'all, unlike most modern stuff where everythin's vague and weird'n confusing."
Spectre's lack of judgement seemed to be just the indicator Nero needed to keep talking about her fascination with older technologies!
"Yeah! And with buttons, you actually know you pressed something. I can tap a thing on my phone, but there's no way of knowing I actually tapped it. If I couldn't see my screen, I'd have no way of knowing if I tapped the right place! Buttons are so much better."
Spectre looked around the room for a chair to sit on.
Nero nodded with a happy smile as she remained standing, letting Spectre sit in the only chair within the Server Room. From there, she could see that the IT drone's workspace was awfully... cluttered, mainly from snack wrappers and empty mini oil cans surrounding the keyboard and monitor.
"O-Oh, sorry for th'mess. I uh, didn't expect anyone t'visit, so..."
