riding the highest horse you’ve ever seen back to my glass house
Baseball is like so the pitcher is like a nervous horse and the catcher like the patient trainer going shh shh shh just look at me focus on me
💔💔 i'm sad again
I think one of the things that makes it hurt more for me about all of our players being traded is feeling like we keep on losing and the Dodgers keep on winning. Like, the 2025 world series was the Power of Friendship versus the richest team in the MLB, and then capitalism won. It feels like this year Jays fans and players are being punished by the universe with an atrocious season and having to watch teammates who helped us get to the world series get traded, all for the crime of losing to the Dodgers. We’re selling players literally the year after making it to Game 7 of the World Series because our playoff chances are low. We were first in the American League at this time last year and as of writing this we are 4 games out of a wild card spot. We now have to mourn the loss of guys like Gaus and Varsh and Hoff, who all wanted so badly to stay with the team in Toronto who are being forced to go elsewhere because we just didn’t do as well this year.
Meanwhile, the Dodgers get to trade for Tarik Skubal not necessarily because they need him but because trading for him means he’s off the market for other teams. They managed to get one of the best pitchers in the league right now because the Tigers likely wouldn’t have been able to pay him come the end of his current contract. I don’t doubt that he'll be added to their rotation and that he’ll do well, but the Dodgers didn’t need Skubal to take them to the playoffs this year; they were heading there anyways. They have so much money and players that it’s no wonder teams like Cleveland or Cincinnati can barely keep up in the same market. They seemingly have a dugout vibe different to ours that they have a guy like Dalton Rushing who plays with ego and disrespects other players and who Shohei Ohtani literally avoids in the dugout who is being praised for his skills. They’ve had some of their better players like Snell, Smith, Hernandez, and others who missed/are missing large chunks of this season but it hasn’t even mattered bc they’re 2nd in the NL anyways.
The Jays came the closest anyone could mathematically get to winning without actually winning. I’m trying to stay positive and romantic about sports like I usually do, I really am, but it’s just kinda hard to do that when it feels like the rich keep getting richer and we’re just forced into more heartbreak for nothing.
little is getting WILD swings and misses
it's once again time to share my favourite brendon little article ever written
I know kevin gausman is already beloved on here but if you want more reasons to love him this article made me happy and I hope it makes you happy too
Ernie has never heard of a strike box he'll hit a ball from the dirt he'll hit a ball so east of the zone it's basically in scarborough
Oh easy mistake. Yearning actually rises from the floor and longing hangs from the ceiling
yeah no i'm not emo at all
the them
hi guys sorry for the long hiatus i bring you some kevins as a treat
my wound salt that I keep beside my bed
being a blue jays fan in 2026 is so powerful. do you think our starter only going 0.2 innings and setting a franchise record for walks in a single inning scares us? not even close.
I cannot get over this photo. He looks like a dog who's been caught eating people food and feels guilty about it.
oh, no, you misunderstand me. those were my monkeys. yeah the circus and i have since parted ways. yeah it was the elephant thing, i dont really want to address that right now though
so I'm very over the flight tracking ohtani nonsense and the idea that jays fans should have known better than to believe the literal MLB account and insider sources, but the athletic spoke to the players about the whole saga and it's hilarious because jordan romano really is just a jays fan at heart
like, they are at alek manoah's wedding. they're playing golf. he's walking down the aisle. celebrating the biggest day of his life.
and jordan romano spent the whole day just flight tracking ohtani
dateline ohtani hosted by jordan romano
even the difference between his and bo's reasoning like jordy's in puerto rico going I HAVE CONNEVTED THE DOTS IT ALL MAKES SENSE meanwhile bo is like yeah I texted kikuchi because he's my friend and we all have his phone number and he said I have no idea what's happening
he's fully one of us
