"StartupBus is an annual competition where Europe’s top tech communities compete against each other to launch a new technology business on the road to Vienna. This exhausting hackathon lasts for 72 hours and it starts in 5 cities in Europe and ends at the Pioneers Festival in Vienna.
Boost Turku’s alumni board member Linda Sevelius is now experiencing the crazy trip. They left on Saturday morning from Berlin, formed the teams and started to work. Idea brainstorming, business valuation, hacking… Linda’s team Never Eat Alone – more about it below - changed their business model from B2C to B2B, just 20 minutes before the 3rd scaling model pitch – and they rocked it!
Never Eat Alone is a networking tool for corporations to easily get their employees to network with each other. For big companies, it is common that people don’t know their colleagues from other departments of the company. Usually people lunch with their closest workmates, and the synergy and innovations, let alone friendships and better corporate culture won’t happen that much. Never Eat Alone strikes the centre of the problem offering a lean and easy to adapt web application where corporate employees can just sign in with their email accounts.
The hackathon last until Tuesday morning when the semi final pitches are. The teams from all five startup busses will pitch against each other. Only five will be elected to the finals, and the winner pitches at the stage of the Pioneers Festival on Wednesday. That’s something to fight for!
