I think Eggy is the kinda kid who was RAISED on energy drinks (mainly red bull, probably) and didn't really go to coffee for caffeine unless it was instant, but once he and Felix move in together (that's right, this is one of THOSE posts >:3) Felix has a french press and Eggy hypeprfixated on it so much in both a machinery way and absolutely loving the fresh coffee that he ends up drinking more coffee than Felix does

I also think Eggy would methodically take it apart and clean it to calm down or focus if he can't work on a car in that moment
