i don’t think rumi would ever say “im going to kill myself” when upset but i DO think she says “somebody kill me” whenever mildly inconvenienced, which always slid by the radar pre-movie because it was never really that concerning of a statement to anyone. like setting up for an interview or something she accidentally fumbles with her mic a bit and drops it on the floor and mutters “ah somebody kill me” and everyone laughs it off. POST-movie however she drops a casual “ugh someone kill me” after forgetting something at the store and zoey and mira instantly snap their mouths shut and slowly rotate their heads toward her with horrified expressions and she frantically has to backtrack

my favorite thing about the “rumi’s purple hair is a natural demon trait” headcanon is the fact it implies rumi was so desperate to convince other people she was human that she dyed her eyebrows brown to trick people into thinking she was dyeing her hair purple. something she did not need to do. since mira, the only person in the group who is ACTUALLY dyeing her hair, literally has pink eyebrows

zoemira thinking rumi is homophobic pre-debut because every time they ask if she likes girls she gives them such a volatile “omg ew NO haha” that there’s literally no other explanation for it. so for years they shove as much wlw content at her as possible (TV shows, movies, books, games, stories from their actual lives, forcing her to meet real life gay people) to subtly turn her to the good side. and as time goes on she grows less and less tense and awkward around the topic and they think it’s working!!! until one day she eyeliners the bi flag onto her face and they go “rumi are you bi??” and she says “what NO ew absolutely not” which crushes them all over again because 1) yeah she’s still homophobic and 2) now she’s QUEERBAITING and it’s THEIR FAULT for making her watch gls every night before bed

meanwhile rumi has a raging crush on both of them and consuming nonstop yuri is only fueling her fire more, but she absolutely cannot let them ask her out before her patterns are gone because that means she’ll have to reject them. she’s also fully aware they like her back, so she has to straightbait to get them off her trail. and she thinks she’s being SO smooth about it. she genuinely believes she’s dodging around the topic so well and that the girls just think she’s straight and nothing else. so eventually the day comes post-movie where she finally works up the courage to confess her undying love for them and both of them are GOBSMACKED. jaws hanging, dead silence kind of shock. and rumi says “oh no im sorry did i read our dynamic wrong” and they say “NO??? we thought you were homophobic!!!!” and their “days without miscommunication” count goes back down to 0 after a very chaotic and confusing conversation

polytrix on a road trip but only zoey and mira have licenses so they toss rumi in the back and tell her to play candy crush while they chauffeur her around. they have no idea how to get where they’re going so they’ve got a gps showing them the way, except it becomes abundantly clear within 10 minutes of driving that they have to be as discreet as possible in checking the map because if they so much as huddle around it together for ONE SECOND rumi will slowly crane her neck in between the seats and go “can i help” to which the answer is ALWAYS a unanimous no and two different hands shoving her back into her seat
