Ghostbur... (Wilbur sighs and sits next to the other.) In simple terms, the last time we spoke really opened my eyes. I feel like you and I might have gotten off on the wrong foot. You didn’t like me, and I didn’t really like you, and...I don’t think it should be that way. I think that we should be on the same page, you know?

(Ghostbur looks at Wilbur with wide, unblinking eyes. Again, it takes a bit for the words to sink in. It’s almost hard to believe that this is happening in the first place.) 

...Oh. Well, okay. (He cracks a small smile. It feels unnatural.) Yeah. If- If you’re willing to be on the same page, then so am I. How do we get on the same page?

...Well... (Wilbur hums.) I guess I can start by telling you everything that’s gone down since we last spoke. Would you like that?

(Eagerly, Ghostbur nods.) Yeah! I want to know how everyone is! Are they doing alright? How’s Tommy?

Tommy’s been fine. Everyone’s been fine, I think. We’ve all been getting better bit by bit. I’ve been...trying to repair all of the relationships I had with everyone. (Wilbur sighs.) It won’t ever be how it was like back then in L’manberg, but...it’s something. It’s better than what it was.

(Ghostbur listens, nodding along.) Good! I’m glad everyone’s okay. (He looks to the drawing of Tommy on the wall.) I remember Tommy saying that things weren’t very good when he came here. I’m glad everything is better now!

(Wilbur tenses at the mention of Tommy being in limbo.) ...yeah. Yeah, everything’s a lot better. With Dream being dead, everything’s sort of...chilled out.

Oh! (Ghostbur only dwells on Dream’s death for a few seconds.) I’m glad everything is chill now! Has anything else happened while I’ve been here?

Oh, yeah, uh... (Wilbur takes a moment to think.) Oh! Quackity’s got a country now. He calls it Las Nevadas. It’s a big, fake desert that was built on top of some snowy biome. He put a bunch of sand on top and called it a desert. He literally even imported scorpions to make it more believable. I’ve seen him dump scorpions into the sand out of a bucket.

(Ghostbur giggles at the fuzzy image in his head of Quackity with a bright blue, plastic bucket full of scorpions.) That’s pretty silly.

(Wilbur laughs with him.) Yeah. Big Q’s a pretty silly guy. (His laughter trails off into a sigh.) But...you know, he’s not a bad guy. He’s mellowed out a lot, actually. We...even started dating pretty recently.

Wha- (Ghostbur gasps.) You’re dating Big Q? Really? (When Wilbur nods, he blinks and looks at the wall for a moment. Then, he turns back to Wilbur, smiling.) Oh, wow. You’re really lucky to be dating him! He’s very hot! Have you seen his ass? It’s really nice!

(Wilbur bursts out laughing, smacking the floor of the station.) I—pft, yeah. Yeah, I’ve seen it. It is pretty nice. And...I am very lucky to have him by my side. He’s actually been helping me do, (she waves her hand around the station,) all of this. Coming to limbo to see you, and everything. He’s been helping me. I...couldn’t have done it without him. Not safely.

(Ghostbur nods, but stays silent for a bit. When he speaks again, it’s soft and quiet.) ...I still don’t understand why you’d wanna come back here just to see me.

Well, like I said, I felt that we got off on the wrong foot at first, and...I think having us be on the same page would help. It’s...a bit like my way of making it up to you, Ghostbur. (Wilbur looks away, down at the floor.) With you being here, it...it feels like a part of me is missing. And I thought that being here, talking to you, would fix it.

(Wilbur thinks for a bit. He looks around the station, looks at the wall, and then looks at Ghostbur. He puts a hand on his own chest.)

(Ghostbur smiles.) ...I’m glad you’ve been convinced, Alivebur. 

(A blaring train horn cuts through the silent. Ghostbur cringes.)

A-Ah, I think that’s your cue!

Fuck, already?

(Wilbur looks around, eyes wide.) 

Shit. Maybe I’ll have to do this again. (He looks back at Ghostbur, a fire in his eyes.) I’ll come back for you, okay? I’m- I’m not leaving you here. I refuse to. (Her breathing quickens as the train’s horn sounds again.) You don’t- neither of us should be here. We don’t-

(With no coherent words coming to his mouth, he instead lurches forward, arms wrapping around the ghost.)

Wha- 

(Ghostbur freezes as arms are locked around him. For a moment, he’s frozen, everything stopping for a second as he registers the touch. Despite limbo being so cold, it feels...warm. It feels like the sun.)

(He melts into it, a sob ripping through his throat as he hugs back just as tight. They melt into each other, and it feels like two trains of thought finally converge onto one track. Memories flood through from both ends—the heat of the sunrise, the bitter cold of the arctic, the comfort of soft laughter, the harsh clang of an anvil—it all floods into one stream.) 

(They don’t part from the hug. Instead, someone not quite new but not quite old stand from the floor. She looks around, and she finds no one. His hands move over himself, and he feels one body.)

(No longer Ghostbur, no longer Alivebur, it’s just Wilbur. That’s all he needs to be. That’s all he ever needed to be.)

(Two enter the station, and one leaves, finally feeling whole.)

He put a bunch of sand on top and called it a desert. He literally even imported scorpions to make it more believable. I’ve seen him dump scorpions into the sand out of a bucket.
