Firestar's nine lives.

here’s my timeline, spanning from the autumn of 1997 when bluestar was born to the summer of 2004 when fire and ice ends. I love being autistic. It’s not complete.

it is mostly focusing on spottedleaf and mousefur’s lives and trying to figure out their timelines, because the “bluestar leadership pre-ITW” 2 year period is like a dumping ground of vague darkness where every single thunderclan historical event gets sent to die. sometime during that is when a bunch of warriors get disabled, renamed and sent to the elders den. that’s also when thistleclaw dies. I do not respect novella canon btw. those things r full of lies

one thing the timeline has revealed to me that i am very fond of is redtail and bluestar. he became a warrior at the same time as she became deputy, after a very short apprenticeship. he’s given mousefur as an apprentice almost instantly after becoming a warrior. he’s only like 6 months older than her and he’s only had 6 months of apprentice training and no warrior experience! but he does a good job. and clearly bluefur sees something in him. within the year she’s leader with him as her deputy. her right hand man :)

literally a month or two before rusty shows up is a massive plague that kills 7 cats total, including featherwhisker, so spottedleaf only becomes the sole medicine cat at this point. she receives what’s probably her first prophecy (fire alone) and then her brother gets murdered to death and she is dead too within six months. a short and crazy career for her and honestly no wonder she became obsessed with being like a spirit mentor to fireheart. can u imagine if u got the prophecy for the chosen one and then ur like oh boy i JUST got promoted to being the leader of the church around here and it’s my job to guide the chosen one? and then u get murdered. And ur like. Was that really my life’s work. it can’t be over. That was too important. anyway

my main 2 resources for this are the timeline on the warriors wiki, which has its own firestar-as-jesus style of dating … YBF=years before firestar . I love it. Then there’s kate carys timeline which sets Into The Wild into 2003, the year it was published. I love that too. It feels right. I merged those, so if you’re on the warriors wiki, 1YBF is 2002, 2YBF is 2001, etc . 1997 is 6YBF. 2004 is year 2. i supplemented the available info from the blog and wiki with my own research in the books. I favoured earlier and main series canon over later and novella canon, though super editions like bluestar’s prophecy and crookedstar’s promise took precedence over TPB where I felt the info made more sense. there are almost certainly fuckups. Some stuff I couldn’t find any canon mention of so I just put it where it logically would’ve had to go.

yeahhh so that’s basically that. it’s something ive got as a supplemental thing for my spottedmouse writing and drawing. Always working on it.

rambling about fireheart & bluestar & mistyfoot (and whitestorm!) with truly No point to it

bluestar and fireheart’s relationship through TPB, until she dies, is such a beautiful thing that, to give warriors credit, we do get a lot of compared to most literature- young male and older female relationships that are solid, emotional, loving, deeply respectful…. fireheart is a guy who is largely surrounded, supported and shaped by women, partly because his potential male role models/friends keep being evil/murdered/faking their own deaths. he looks up to bluestar with devastating sincerity, loves her unconditionally and protects her at great cost to himself and often even others. her and yellowfang are his maternal figures, with whitestorm in a really interesting older brother role (that i think bluestar’s promise absolutely drove home flawlessly) where he’s both trying to keep bluestar together, use his position as basically the last remaining senior warrior to hold the CLAN together, and fill bluestar’s position as mentor to fireheart that she should be playing since he’s a young and inexperienced deputy. together they’re very “two oldest siblings are trying to take over running the household because our single mum is not well but we can’t let any of the little siblings or the school or the neighbours find out or they’ll take us away.” fireheart’s watching bluestar’s trauma force its way to the surface through tigerclaw’s actions and he just loves her, he wants her to be okay. even if he needs her and she is not being what he needs from his leader.

his kinship w/ mistyfoot through TPB is really lovely, one of my fave side friendships that fireheart has. they’re in such similar positions from the moment they meet, on either side of the “my best friend is having an illegal affair” coin, they’re scared, they have such similar personalities, he saves the life of her son (reedwhisker!!!1!!!!!!!!) and he is the one who finds her and tells her that silverstream is dead and brings her to the grave. he is there when bluestar reveals the truth about her and stonefur and it is together that they bring bluestar onto the riverbank and sit with her while she dies. it’s together they carry her home to her den and he is the one who defends her to thunderclan. he is there to rescue her from tigerclan and he welcomes her into thunderclan forever if she wants it. that is his sister through and through man……. they’re on the journey together

This was more of a spur of the moment AU idea but The Three but the prophecy is about them being related to Bluestar. (Can see there being a thing of like; "oh they come from a family tree of halfers no wonder they're x, y, z" b/c silverstream iirc was half-clan, misty and co obviously, storm and feather etc)

my favourite thing about every warrior cats fan who is the number one stan of some random unimportant background character is that almost without fail they will be convinced that their guy has right of succession. they’ll have a whole au where secretly their fave character is the main character of warriors holding the whole story together and it will be convincing as HELL and you’ll go fuck….. smallear should have been the one to save thunderclan you’re right….. I eat it up every time

Firestar misses Bluestar at the lake territory.

Firestar misses Yellowfang at the like territory.

At the lake… he has a den that Bluestar never slept in. He bathes in the sun, glistening like flames, on rocks their paws never knew. He thinks of them more because there are no things that they shared here. They never shared tongue beneath the Highledge, or on Half rock. There are no memories of them there.

He can’t visit where they’re buried. He can’t put his paws there they once stood. There’s so hint of their stale scents on the stone. There’s nothing of them in this place. Fewer and fewer cats remember them.

He misses Lionheart.

He misses Whitestorm.

He misses Ravenpaw.

He misses his first true home in the forest. He dreams of a it. He dreams of them.
