it had been like a decade since i read bluestars prophecy and it sure goes down differently as an adult i feel so majorly depressed right now LMAO… just felt like reading a really fucked up memoir and thinking None of this had to happen to you. #also has my favourite dialogue writing of any warriors book i think. it always just feels like people talking #it’s so grounded #even the dramatic scenes like mosskits death are written in a deeply grounded way that make everyone involved feel so real #sorry I’m gonna be bluestars prophecy posting for some time i suspect

#I'm enjoying bluestars prophecy so much

it’s been a very long time since i read bluestar’s prophecy but i forgot how much bluepaw’s anger and grief meant to me as a preteen. that winter hunting scene made me feel sooo seen.

that whole scene the night before the battle with windclan where moonflower puts moss from her nest in bluepaw and snowpaws and then tells them they can get more after and then bluepaw comforts herself with a fantasy of going to gather moss with her mother and sister to escape her fear of the upcoming battle…. i don’t know the writing in bluestars prophecy feels almost uniquely intentional and it’s making me think about mosskit

#im rereading this book tonight for thrushpelt study #but mostly it’s just making me go Wagh oh bluestar.oh bluestar. oh bluestar.ohhh #my current impression on thrushpelt is that he sort of seems like he’s supposed to be an unlikeable weenie #but we’ll see how reliable our narrator remains #bc I don’t recall him being written like this

i don’t even hate thrushpelt really i just hate the way he’s seen by the fandom. misogyny seeping through the cracks of society
