Hey I’m Wolfgrowl, Wolfy’s also cool. I’m a trans dude in his mid-20s and this is my sideblog for Warrior Cats stuff. He/him only.
I post my fanfic here, Ao3 and Fanfiction.net (both Ao3 and FF.net would be under Wolfgrowl). If you see someone posting my fanfic anywhere else, they’ve stolen it and please don’t support that.
If you wanna reach out, feel free to toss me an ask, I’m a naturally chatty sort.
i think if you showed minecraft or fortnite to a little medieval peasant boy he would probably start writing parodies of church hymns. it’s human nature
Balto but its been rewritten 24 years after its release
Okay so here’s the Balto rewrite lol. It’s quite a bit different then The Actual Thing but the plot itself is much the same, as are the major beats of the story. I dropped a lotta goofy shit in there just because it made me laugh, but try and imagine this stuff happening as if it’s from an actual 90s movie made by a studio on its last legs.
Some things to know going into it:
I cut out the live actions segments because they seriously didn’t matter at all. Like, who cares. The plot is fine without them and I don’t think that one line from Rosie at the end makes a huge difference. I guess it’s nice to see the statue but even than it’s like….. whatever
In my fantasy world, Balto was a standalone movie that didn’t spark any sequels. Eventually I’ll write out my version of the sequels if they’d actually been good, but in the universe of this rewrite for this film, a Balto “franchise” never existed, hence why the ending is sorta different
It’s still a “historical” fiction that holds very little relation to the actual events. There’s a touch more actual history in there, but c'mon. You’re not reading talking dog movie fanfic to learn anything. Pick up a book if you care about the actual serum run and don’t get on my juicy ass about it if some things remain inaccurate
Please also note that I didn’t baby this as much as I should have, so some major plot elements that are kinda stupid are likely still in there (I’m not a good writer lbr). I don’t believe this is necessarily “better” then the OG, I just tweaked some stuff that always pissed me off about it. I also re-included cut content I thought was more interesting and made more sense then what we ended up getting.
There’s also a handful of fake screenshots throughout for shits and giggles, and I’ll likely have at least one or two more to share later this month. Some links to past character designs are also provided for easy reference so you can make up scenes in your head but with Brand Spankin’ New Designz.
StarClan split the velvet curtain of the sky, and the ensuing light shattered the world.
Fire burned despite the downpour of water from the heavens. The Two-Legs vessel was cast in all directions to be shredded by the gnashing teeth of the ocean. Into the hungry foam, Heronpaw fell.
Lavenderstar had told her that StarClan would return for everyone one day, be it in their dreams or through the hooked claw of another cat. It was a good thing, to be reunited with your loved ones. Heronpaw was so young, she could not imagine this happening to her quite yet.
Striking the churning water, she thought of Lavenderstar, she thought of her brother and sister in Starclan.
Were they scared, too?
Heronpaw was not allowed the luxury of fear for more than a breath. Adrenaline jolted through her and her paws scrambled for purchase in the murky darkness. She was suspended in the void of the sea, weightless and sinking all at once. Above her, the sickly pallor of the full moon, and beneath her, glimmering StarClan.
She felt their paws grazing hers. She could hear her name, spoken so far away and so warbled that it could have been a dream.
Heronpaw wanted it to be a dream. Yet, dreams did not involve drowning kits, and there was one entering the tide but a whiskers distance away from her.
Longkit.
She knew little of him, as he was less than a moon old and far too young to ever interact with, yet he was sinking like a leaden weight. The sunny orange of his fur was the only thing she had noticed, so jarring a sight against the void. Heronpaw cycled her paws in a frenzy, breaching the water’s surface.
She sucked in frigid air that stung her lungs, but did not linger. Heronpaw descended back into the depths, snatching Longkit in her jaws. He did not fight back. Distantly, Heronpaw thought that he was so small and warm compared to the ocean.
Heronpaw resurfaced a second time, sputtering pathetically for air through her nose as she gripped Longkit by his scruff. Only when Heronpaw dug her claws into the safety of driftwood did the kit react, mewling pathetically. Heronpaw collapsed beside him on their makeshift raft, fur flattened with salt water.
“It’s okay,” She repeated as a desperate litany, to either herself or the kit. “It’s okay, we’re okay, we’re okay.”
Heronpaw pulled Longkit ever closer to her, shutting her eyes to drown out the sound of Starclan’s claws tracing along the underside of the driftwood.

The next and the last cover for polish edition of Warriors: A Vision of Shadows 6: The Raging Storm written by Erin Hunter, that I had the pleasure to create for Wydawnictwo Nowa Baśń!
It's always so funny to me when the Erins are like "oh this cat is so old their muzzle is grey" because I've had cats all my life, and my 20 year old cat didn't go grey, my 17 year old cat didn't go grey, my 12 year old cat hasn't gone grey, my 9 year old cat hasn't gone grey, my 5 year old cat better not go grey any time soon, so it might just be personal expierence but even outside of my own cats I've never met one that got a grey muzzle.
The rest of loudclan’s leadership clears out of the cave to allow Dancesun a moment to himself while he makes a decision about whether or not to send out a search party for their missing clanmates.
The descision has been made. There will be no search parties. Loudclan's missing members are on their own.
Meanwhile, Owlstar beds down, but on his own he cannot keep the cold at bay. He loses his first life at 127 moons.
Siltsplash, on the other hand, pushes on through the blizzard, determined to find their way back to the clan despite the blinding snowfall.
[It’s finally done! If you saw the original draft of this part no you didn't. It definately wasn't an essay worthy conversation between Song and Dance. It definately didn't get almost entirely finished before getting scrapped. I did not dissappear again. There is no war in Ba Sing Se. For real though had a major break through in managing to edit two parts down into one which means the end of this moon is in sight! (Theoretically. Aiming for only 2 more parts if the writing gods smile upon me.)]
