this is Le Cassette, the epitome of new retro wave music.
THIS IS PHAT! fuck this shit is funky
should i go all academic about this?
A driving beat with a counter melodic synth, with syncopated beats that keep the dance floor hot
Alright you heard a recent cover of a tears for fears song, but here they are covering Animal Collectives - My girls, and I will say I think I enjoy this version more than the original. It's a fresh take, that has a flurry of atmospherics, and a driving rhythm that keeps it alive and fun.
"I don't care for fancy things
Or to take part in the freshest wave, But to provide for mine who ask
I will, with heart, on my father's grave "
my girls - Animal CollectiveÂ
Like I previously posted about tears for fears, heres a song by Matthew Dear featuring Teagan and Sara on an amazing cover of Tears for Fears - Pale Shelter. It was pretty sick being at i-bar downtown and hearing this song come on. I hope you all like it
Before I introduce some new modern twists to the old and new, we have to give it up to one of the founding fathers of synth driven music Tears for Fears. One of my all time favorite bands, and it makes me so glad their alive and kicking, and still making music. They've kept under the radar, and should be coming out with a new album this year, and i'm looking forward to the chills their music evoke.Â
This guy is new in town and I still don't understand how he was able to pull off this masterpiece. Amazing visuals, and the epitome of what new retro wave is all about.Â
I haven't been able to get this out of my head, and it's been a secret gem of mine when it comes to new retro music, enjoy
Where is Orlando?
It seems like there is no indie / alternative scene in Orlando, there isn’t any fashion either. like this post if you want to help us build one.  We can start meeting, and doing parties and shows and making the city a little more ours. If I’m wrong point me in the right direction.Â
Im planning on hosting some parties so i'll definitely let the whole community know. I definitely agree we need some real indie / alternative going on around here
This shit gives me chills
FKJ (French Kiwi Juice)Â : makes one of the tastiest mixes i have ever heard, through out this mix all you can imagine is a messed up good time
some lyrics from this mix that always cracks me up, and i’m pretty sure we’ve all been in this situation before:
last night in the middle of my city was looking for a cab to go make some moves I was going to this new club hidden in a dark street on Marble square was feeling so fresh that i grab a pretty girl we cut the line straight to the bouncer man i m on the list my name is whatever Whatever+ 1 let us in man when the night is coming to your town you get blinded but your soul can see everything from the darkness of your mind
WAZZUP IT’S NEW RETRO @ UCF
So I def need to start off with an explanation to why the fack i’m making this tumblr:
I’ve been at UCF for about 2 years now and i’ve been pretty disappointed in the indie-electro scene. Just 3 months ago Tesla Boy (and don’t worry if you don’t know who they are you will soon) performed here at Will’s Pub for $10 bucks and the place was dead! Tesla Boy is a band that can pull thousands to their shows, because they seriously kick ass, but in orlando it’s more like “Tesla Who?” But w/e they came and left, and regardless it was an amazing show.            Â
                       Getting back on track,
I thought it would be cool to make this blog to introduce some amazing indie-electro, new retro music to the UCF community. The only way i could describe this music is as if, people in the 80’s were finally able to make music using today’s technology, to make mind blowing synth melodies.
I’m planning on hosting some events close by to UCF with GALLONS of PBR and Rolling Rock, so don’t be shy to let your inner hipster shine, and come out and jam with fellow retro “ragers?!” lol I’ll keep you all posted when I host the next event.
