ISSUU LINK
http://issuu.com/zlata-alekhno/docs/pdf_final_portfolio_for_issuu?e=0
To upload my portfolio on ISUU I saved all images from Photoshop as TIFF format. After I created a new document in Adobe InDesign with 11 pages and inserted my TIFF images into it. Then I added some text to my portfolio and after exported the file as PDF. Then I created accoun on ISSUU and uploaded my PDF file.
Portfolio - Time Planning / Overall Evaluation
I feel that this module and portfolio making helped me to develop my composition and layout. It will be helpful for future modules and projects because now I know the basic knowledge how to make a digital portfolio. I also understood that I need to use a lot of hand made techniques and scan everything in. This way my portfolio will benefit and I will show more skills.
I am not satisfied with my time management for this module, but I am on time and I didn’t rush my illustration or technical flats. I did it all carefully and neatly (for example range plan). But next time I would definitely improve my time planning and spend more time on portfolio layout. In my portfolio I used cohesive style and colours. Overall I am happy with the portfolio and I think that I managed to communicate my theme.
Range Plan - 2 pages
To create my range plan I decided to put them on two pages, because it will look less crowded and even in my portfolio layout. I am not sure if I need to add text, for example ‘‘ OUTFIT 1 ‘‘ etc.
Changing the Cover Page
After I changed my mood board I also decided to change the cover page. I added the same scanned paper to add texture, like in my mood board or colour board.
Changing Moodboard After Feedback
After a feedback I started to change my mood board. First i made the opacity of one image stronger, but still it didn’t look right. So I decided to add texture with scanned paper, the same that I have in my colour board. So now I am happy with it and it will look cohesive with my colour board.
Draft of Portfolio without Range Plan
This is the draft of my portfolio without the last range plan. I decided to create a PDF to see it in cohesive order and decide what I need to change. I also send it to my tutor and asked for the feedback. I am not sure about first two pages and the minimal style of pages with illustration and flat sketches.
Creating Range Plan with Fabric Swatches
Yesterday night I finished my range plan. It took me around 4 hours or more, and I didn’t expect it to take so long. So next time I will allow more time for it or start earlier. But I am happy with the outcome, I made it very neat and accurate.
Feedback on Porfolio Draft
Change the mood board - opacity of images/ make one image stronger and not so opaque
Add annotations to illustration boards
In general, pages look good
I also have to finish the range plan.
Remaking the Mood Board
After remaking the colour board I tried to remake my mood board, but I found it really complicated. I tried to add another image and play with layers. I also added the title of the portfolio because this way it will look similar to colour board.
Final Design Boards with Title and Colour Harmony
Development of Cover Board
Here I developed my cover page. I decided to use the main image of the woman from the video movie. I added the view of the sea at the background to show the theme, because she escapes to the seaside. I also need to include my name but I can only do it in college because I don’t have the same font on my laptop.

Progress of Illustration
This is the development of my illustrations:
1. I found the right poses of models on www.style.com
2. I did some rough sketches and tried to draw my garments on models.
3. I scanned my sketches and edited them in Photoshop using LEVELS and eraser tool to get rid of unwanted marks and lines.
4. I printed my sketches and added some contour lines using watercolours.
5. I scanned it again and decided to use Photoshop to fill my garments with colour (using fabric swatches ).
6. I thought it is too rough (some edges with dark blue) so I printed my illustrations again and added more contour and lines with watercolours.
7. Then I thought that I added too much contour so I decided to add more light shades and less contour less bright.
8. After I decided to scan my illustrations and add first scanned sketch on top to have the black outline.
Overall I am not very satisfied with my illustrations. I think I want to get the feedback on them. Because I tried to use a new technique and add colour in Photoshop I think I slightly overworked my illustrations. Maybe they are very much filled with colour. But on the other hand, it shows the colour of garments.
Deciding On Colour
This is my developmental process where I was deciding on colour before doing my illustrations. To do it quickly I used QUICK SELECTION TOOL in Photoshop to fill the FLAT SKETCHES quickly with colour (Pantone from colour palette). It worked well and helped me to decide on colour quickly and imagine how my final line up will look.
