ways that i can become famous:

save the world. pros: i save the world. cons: paparazzi. that might work for me actually.

do a lot of fundamental research and die horribly. pros: i’ll be in history. cons: someone might steal my research and i’ll be forgotten about. also, i die and don’t get to enjoy my fame.

go all victor frankenstein. pros: i’ll probably do something scientifically incredible. cons: i go through a storm of tribulation and then i die alone on some ice after chasing my creation to the ends of the earth.

i know MIT talks about me occasionally depending on the department.

like, i’m kind of famous, but only within a specific minute group of people. i’m obscure famous. scientist-trying-to-save-the-world famous. i’m pretty well known in the scientific community, for better or for worse.

like, i probably know more than anyone alive knows about how these guys work, since so many of our researchers were either laid off or got into one of those big metal death traps and died. i’m sure somebody’s interested.

let’s be real for a second here, i’m just impressed that the stiffs that run this operation haven’t fired the rest of all the k-science division after all of these funding cuts. remember last year when i made this blog? remember when i had coworkers? remember interns?

#remember not getting up at 7 AM to do busywork with rigging because that's what we paid some kid in his twenties for?

i’m amazed, honestly, like, they’ve let me get away with that for the last, what... five years? dozens of workplace accidents? countless numbers of arguments with my colleagues? subtle-but-not-so-subtle jabs at the PPDC’s financing priorities being skewed towards the guys beating colossal monsters into putty but not the guys keeping you all informed on how to not die while beating colossal monsters into putty? THE GENEVA INCIDENT??????

so, the PPDC finally forced me to delete my official unofficial shatterdome research division twitter account after an incident involving me getting into a drunken argument with one particular secular group that maaaaay have devolved into some unprofessional name-calling.

so..... hey?
