I have just made a short film to pay homage to the late Steve Jobs. It is a stop motion film made using paper figures that were made using Foldify, an app for the iPad. This video is pretty unique ‘cause firstly I am just 14 years old and secondly since I did not use any professional editing or recording software or material.

5 days to go for WWDC MMXIII

But it is just five long days before most of these rumors will be proved wrong while some might just turn out to be true. What I am really excited about is nothing but iOS 7, supposedly redesigned under the expertise of Jony Ive. Various tech blogs have been reporting that the new version of iOS will sport a flatter design with the 'overdone' textures removed. Well if you see the posters of WWDC 2013 and the icon of its newly launched app (Available on the App Store), these predictions and rumors might indeed be true. So on 10th June, 2013 we will have the first peek into what iOS 7 really is! Although you shouldn't expect to update your devices before fall, this year. 

Tim Cook had recently said that we should not expect any new devices before fall. But there have been rumors about upgrading the MacBook line, the much talked about iWatch, the new iPhone 5S and a new 9.7 inch iPad with a thinner bezel. There have been lots of 'leaked' pictures of components of these devices posted online. 

Well all that we can do is sit and wait for the much anticipated event and keep you all posted about announcements and latest information. In the meanwhile, you can download the WWDC app from the App Store from which you can access videos of WWDC sessions and keynotes.

App Review - Foldify

Foldify is a very impressive and unique app on the App Store. It's the first of its kind on possibly any platform and is can entertain people of any age for hours and hours of fun.

While designing the model, you can view real time 3D preview of it at the side. All of this is very smooth. After you have completed designing, you can print it out via a wireless printer or you can mail it as a PDF to print it out via any normal printer. There is also an option to upload it to the vast online Foldify gallery that can only be viewed within the app. You can also print any of the Foldify characters uploaded by others.

The other features include, sticker sets out of which some are free while the others come at a low price. There are also a whole lot of pre-loaded stickers to boost your creativity.

This app is truly worth buying and I would personally recommend it since I am a huge fan of it. In fact I have also made a stop-motion video using the characters made using this app, check it out here: http://youtu.be/-s_pW8u6zUY

Why you must know how to code

Programming is something that enables you create anything using a computer. I feel very strongly that everyone should learn how to programme as it can be of great benefit to us and to the whole world.

Coding is actually fun even though most people say it’s boring and complicated and is only meant for ‘technical’ people who are ‘good with computers’. Nonsense! It can be a bit intimidating but you get the hang of it pretty quickly. You don’t have to be a genius to learn how to code. As I mentioned earlier, it’s fairly simple. You get a great deal of satisfaction from creating something on your own and sharing it with others. It can even become a hobby and you can code just for fun. 

Even if you don’t plan to become a programmer, you must learn to write code because the ability to do so sets you apart from the rest of the crowd. It can be a great asset and can help you secure a job more easily. Companies like Facebook and Dropbox are literally trying to hire as many intelligent programmers and software engineers as they can. And almost every other profession uses computers these days so it doesn’t matter what your profession is, coding can be of great help.

Coding is something that truly doesn’t have any limits. You can actually create anything you want. It is like a superpower that sets you apart from the others and lets you do the unimaginable. It’s not about mastering computer sciences or being a genius whizkid. I think it’s probably about making lives better for other people with your creations. It is about sharing your ideas and creations with other people. It is about learning how to tackle problems and coming up with elegant solutions. It is about creating new things and learning new things. It is about learning how to think and learning how to be creative.
