I donāt think the white supremacists were necessary in āBreaking Badā.
Idk I honestly forgot they were there when they were introduced. I thought it was gonna be a quick āactually nah this isnāt gonna work outā thing but it really wanted to be important. I didnāt care about Todd and thought he wasnāt as interesting as other characters like Gale.
Of course they have their big moments in the final episodes with Hank and Jesse, but honestly it couldāve been literally anyone other group and it wouldnāt have made a difference - thatās how much they didnāt have a hook on me. It couldāve been a completely separate drug cartel that had no affiliation with Don Eladio because they arenāt the only people in the world running a drug empire. They wouldnāt have to be flushed out in any way but you could understand their involvement and know that even without Don Eladio, Gus, the Salamancas, etc the drug business is a very serious and cutthroat hell you canāt get away from (šNacho). Iām sure thatās what the aryans weāre supposed to be, but they werenāt really into meth and even said they didnāt really need/want to continue with it once they had an obscene amount of money. It wasnāt until Todd having a weird crush on Lydia (who - because I watched BCS first- I didnāt think would have so much of a presence and influence on the show) that he said naw we can make more money if we keep doing this.
They didnāt even have that much focus on them in El Camino. They showed them there and how AGAIN they treated Jesse, but it was mostly Todd getting flashback screen time UNTIL they just created a new quick set of bad guys who knew the group and played an albeit small part in Jesseās torture. They only had to seem important so Jesse could get his money and gtfo of New Mexico. I did not like El Camino.
Itās also weird to think about how absolutely vile Walter White is but he is comparatively not as bad as literal Yahtzees. Iām sure thatās wasnāt the intention, because - unlike some recent indie animated series finales - Vince Gilligan made sure youāre not supposed to feel bad for Walter after literally EVERYTHING he has done. Like yeah the cartel was also bad, but within the context of the show Walter was a loose cannon that wouldnāt and didnāt want to adhere to the rules and hierarchy of the game. He really only did what he did in the finale because he didnāt want someone else slinging the blue stuff while he was a wanted man and knew Jesse was involved but only spared him because he was nothing more than a tortured mangy dog in their care.
But uh yeah. . . I did not care for the white supremacists.
Being asexual and racist is embarassing as fuck. Being racist at all is obviously embarassing as fuck but the amount of racism and especially antiblackness i have been seeing from asexuals recently is obscene.
One of the only asexual activists is Yasmin Benoit, a Black woman. She has raised so much awareness for the community. She was the first asexual person to lead Pride in London, she started the #thisiswhatasexuallookslike movement and is THE leading voice for the community.
And you all will celebrate international asexuality day on April 6th but we wouldn't even have that if she hadn't cofounded it.

By far one of the greatest moments of my life! Iāve been to cons before ā Iāve even been to C2E2. But this year I finally got THE con experience! I may have come out of it battered and bruised due to my homemade Audrey 2, but it was the star of the day. So many people were in awe of this thing, and a few wanted to take my picture, EVEN BEFORE THEY KNEW IT WAS A PUPPET THAT I COULD MOVE! Iāve never felt such an ego boost in my whole life, nevertheless the amount of joy I donāt think Iāve EVER felt.
And it kept getting better?
Walking through artist alley is a must. Unfortunately for my wallet, I bought A LOT more than I was expecting. It didnāt matter because everyone was so nice and we had such nice little chats!
Two moments in particular absolutely stunned me to my core. First, I had spotted one of the queens of Halloween Jill Thompson at her own āScary Godmotherā booth. It took a lot of guts, but social anxiety be damned! Not only did I have lovely conversations with the two lovely individuals at that booth, but I mustered the courage to ask for a photo AND BOY DID I GET SO MUCH MORE! It was an honor to spend the most money at that booth, especially because um . . .hello??? Scary Godmother is the best! The two specials have always held a place in my heart, and now I have an official book with more stories AND more scenes and details from the specials! Come on man we gotta get on this. At least another special to finish THE TRILOGY OF JIMMY! Such an absolute delight. Thank you, Jill Thompson š§”š¤
Secondly, but certainly not least. . .ly, I had wondered over to the booth of none other than Guy Gilchrist! I was going to look around and purchase a few items ā The Gonzo āWhateverā button was a must have IYKYK. But when I made it to the man himself to sign my print, he just seemed so elated! Taking a liking to my plant, he asked ME for a picture! If my soul didnāt leave my body before, surely it was up in the rafters now. Guy Gilchrist gave me such an empowering conversation about trying and failing yet learning from the mistakes and trying again. That in order to have experience, of course youāll start with no experience (Iām paraphrasing due being on the verge of tears). What an absolutely unbelievable experience! Thank you, Guy Gilchrist. š
To end the glamorous, emotionally uplifting event, I was serenaded by Chicagoās own Mandalƶrtian (EVERYONE LOVES LITTLE SHOP) We had been searching for him like we were going shiny hunting, but we finally found him just in time ā the ātimeā being right before my body was about to shut down from all the hype and excruciating physical demands of my DIY. What a chill and cool dude with VERY good musical taste.
I cannot thank @shelbyshaper-art enough for literally everything (and this isnāt even half of her gracious and thoughtful friendship vacation highlights)! Shelby was my hands, my legs, and my support throughout that whole day. I couldnāt have had such a great time without her. Thank you so much for the invite š«¶
