‘Smash RWE’

In Buir, Germany, near the site of the Hambach Forest

RWE is a German energy company which operates the expanding Hambach brown coal mine which is planned to devour what is left of the adjacent forest.

For the past few years environmental activists have resisted the destruction of the Hambach forest through a combination of defensive actions, such as constructing tripods and tree-houses in the forest alongside late night sabotage actions against mine site machinery.

The forest cutting season is approaching, and activist  have made a callout for supporters to join them at the forest to help fight RWE:
