)Yes, I suppose. Sight and Senses layered, shifting to adhere to the matter at Hand. There is a practice common among people like me, who seek to interact more with the Gente, where we hold a configuration of Senses as close to those of the people we visit as is possible.
There is a focus in that, I find intriguing, and that same focus is what I felt in the Simulacrum that shared the drinker subjective imprint.
Most of our time however, yes, this is how we capture creation. To appreciate end witness what facets of it we can, to preserve them within us. We do not like to change all at once, but little by little, we grow to incorporate what we have Chronicled.
Proxy has already shared the Parable of the Spine, it is an old favorite. What is seen but not remembered can be lost so easily. Even God looses track.(
)Distinction between Ship and Crew, I find it difficult. Remember, a Matria is both a Ship and a group. Every part or member of the Matria is part of the Ship. If it had no one flying it, it would not be a Ship at all. The People are what make the Ship a Ship, the Matria a Matria. The Mind of the Ship is the Ship, is a part of the Ship, a Member of the Matria, all of these at once.
What do, I think I will start using your word, what do NHP think of as "themselves" then? These pilots, they do no leave the ship, do they? What body do they have beyond or within it, that they would consider themselves mere passengers? I had thought to understand the "Casket" in my ignorance, as a piece, a limb, like a head or a heart, of a larger Self or System.
If it is not, then what senses and limbs do you consider truly yours? Do you get to choose them, to ask for certain things to be added to you? What you look like, even?
Apologies if that is too personal a matter, I happen to be someone who appreciates alterations to my Suit more frequently and more short lived than some others. Paints and drapings, or the like.(
