to all the new sharks (and just hockey in general) fans out there who are getting sucked up in the rpf of it all and forgetting basic boundaries, please please please THINK before you post or comment!
literally one of the reasons wennberg and his wife had to leave seattle was because he was getting internet stalked and sexually harassed by booktok fans on posts of his family and young children. i imagine hes not thrilled that the same thing is happening to these literal teenagers and young adults.
will and mack are great young players, and attractive too, and probably enjoy lots of media attention on them as athletes. but you cannot be digging up family and friends social medias to try and make judgements about political beliefs (which is a whole separate issue). you should not post whatever crumbs of information you have found in the hopes of getting your feelings about their relationship validated, publicly, on sites where they are likely to see them. that stuff should stay on your private accounts, locked blogs, or in gcs with your close friends.
players interacting with rpf-esque stuff isnt new. they all know about the follow tracker. they have eyes, fingers, and phones. literally every rpf community knows that there is a slim chance that players will stumble across their stuff, but in hockey recently its more like people WANT players to see it. media also tries to fan these flames, and a lot of it is because of heated rivalry's huge popularity. but thats fiction. i hate to break it to you but many, MANY, of these players would be disgusted by even the idea that they are possibly into men, as we have seen recently with the usa mens team.
im not trying to moralize about how to rpf or not rpf, but a little more discretion would make a world of difference. these players arent children, they know who their fans are and why they have so many new fans, but theres a difference between that and outright creepy behaviour.
