a fish is like a chameleon or chinchilla or mouse, you cannot own one without doing lots of research into the right environment for it to live in and the weekly/daily care requirements it will need. i wouldn't joke about gecko care if i didn't know the first thing about taking care of a gecko. people who treat fish like cats and dogs and not like an exotic animal who needs an extremely specific environment will be the death of me
