Do you/your followers have any tips for being ubered as a pyro on offense? Or any tips I can pass on to any medics who uber me? When the enemy team has several sentries set up far apart, trying to tackle that as a pyro seems impossible.
Hiya! Well I donāt know about anyone else, but Iāll throw out my advice for you :)If youāre inquiring for advice about several sentry nests, well thereās not much you, alone, can do as an ubered pyro. It would all really depend which map it is and where each nest is placed. An ubered pyro in general is pretty scary, but like other classes, they CAN be countered, and annoyingly so.And several sentry nests are one of those things. If youāre a really really good pyro, you may be able to take out two with a single uber, if youāre lucky. If the enemy has nest-friendly Pyros, and they know how to airblast, then youāre kind of SOL.If not, then I suggest focusing on one nest. Thatās really all you can do efficiently. Try and convince a good Demoman or Soldier to follow you in when you go. Make sure your Medic flash ubers them too, because then itād be a waste if they jump in, lob a few grenades that do moderate damage and then die.You and your Medic would be the only ones left alive, and chances are youād barely be able to take down one nest before the enemy surrounds you and kills you off. If youāre a w+m1 Pyro, then youāll be lucky to kill off some enemies too while down there. If anything, you should watch the uber percentage when it drains. Assuming you ARENāT a w+m1 Pyro. When you know the uber is about to disappear, and you have SOME ammo left, you should airblast enemies away from your Medic, or play a distraction, so that your Medic can escape to safety. That way, by the time you respawn (should you die), your Medic will have another uber building already, and you can try to tackle the nests once again.Generally, when I pocket Pyros (and I do this often because deary me I LOVE LOVE Pyros!), I let them know that as soon as my uber drains down to 10% left, Iām high-tailing it out of the danger zone. Itās then up to them whether they want to try and continue forward, or pull back with me.Donāt play suicidal pyro if you have a Medic on you. Itās the worst thing, and it brings such terrible habits (I know this from pure experience when I moved from pub to competitive). Generally, it kind of IS almost impossible to take out several sentry nests by yourself, especially if theyāre set up far apart.Ā So really, the only thing you CAN do is get other people on your team to help you focus nests. Do not try to take them out all by yourself; that will only lead to unnecessary death for you and your Medic.Unfortunately, I have to cut this short, because my class break is over! If this does not help, then I severely apologize. At a later date, I will make a post about Pyro/Medic gameplay that involves other things including Sentry nests.Ā Until then! LLAP and stay classy my Anon friend~towel.Ā TLDR;Ā *10% Uber left? GTFOĀ * Do NOT try to take out ALL nests BY YOURSELFĀ * Keep your Medic aliveĀ * Get Demomen/Soldiers to help (even Bonk Scouts too)Ā
