Laundry Day
Here's one of my posts from "The Adventures of Andie Mae." : )
New blog: The Adventures of Andie Mae
Hey world! Sorry I stopped posting stories on here. I got super busy once school started up again, and unfortunately this blog fell by the wayside. But good news! I have a new blog that's now up and running:
http://theadventuresofandiemae.tumblr.com. (I'll also be posting at https://theadventuresofandiemae.wordpress.com.)
It's going to be a daily (sometimes weekly) comic strip following the trials and tribulations of Andie Mae, who's a letter "A." Yeah. I need to think of a better description than that, but that pretty sums it up for now. Anyways, please check it out and follow me there!
Thanks!

Bee Expert: Keith Glatzer
Okay, here's my last Seattle-related post for a while. Before I left the West Coast to head back to Illinois, I interviewed Keith Glatzer about his his job in beekeeping/removing stinging insects from people's houses. It was pretty fun learning about bugs and hearing how he got to where he is now. You can check it out here!

Pet Sitter: Nancy Evans
This summer, I learned that Seattle = dogs. Dogs are everywhere, and they all are so, so cute. Corgis and Shiba Inus are just hanging out on every corner, enjoying their organic dog treats, soaking up the sun. People love 'em more than their children.
"Hi, I'm a Swedish Vallhund and I'm too cute my own good."
So, naturally, I sought out a dog walker to find out what it would be like to run a business in "the dog capital of the world" (OK, I made up that title, but really, it's dogapalooza here). I reached out to Nancy Evans, owner of Dolce Vita Pet Care, to hear what she had to say. Nancy has been running the pet care business since 2008, and sometimes she takes care of up to 18 pets a day (!!!).
Anyways, you can read/hear my interview with Nancy here:

Multimedia Artist: Mandy McGee
For this week's post, I interviewed Mandy McGee, a Seattle-based artist who is involved a gazillion creative projects. She's is a photographer, burlesque dancer, DJ, blogger, “crazy cat lady,” etc.
McGee says her creative passion comes from her interest in storytelling.
“I like telling stories,” she said. “Most artists do like telling stories, even if it’s like a moving picture or a still shot or a painting, there’s a story there.”
You can read more about this supercool person here:

Film Aficionado: David Sessoms
David Sessoms is a movie guru, MIT student, and Amazon intern, among other things. He's enjoyed watching films since he was a kid in Virginia, and now it's turned into one of his favorite pasttimes. You can read/listen more about it here!

Aspiring Old Norse Translator: Kelsey Jonsson
Hey guys! I finally got my first, legitimate "Niche to Meet You" blog post up and running! It's on my friend Kelsey Jonsson, who lives in Seattle and plans to attend University of Washington for Scandinavian studies. She's a really cool, hardworking person, and I'm glad I've gotten to know her this summer. Ch- ch- check it here, ya'll!

Niche to meet you!
Hey Tumblr world! I'm starting a blog. Yay!
It's called Niche to Meet You. You can find it here:
https://nichetomeetyou.wordpress.com
Basically, it's going to be stories (audio, visual and/or written) about people and their passions -- gardening, long boarding, mushroom hunting, you name it.
I love meeting people and picking their brains about what makes them tick, what drives them, what makes them, them. I plan/hope to talk to lots of people about their passions and how they got to where they are now.
I'm currently living in Seattle, but I'll be living in England/traveling throughout Europe in the fall, and then will be back in Champaign/Chicago. There are so many interesting people here, and I know I'll continue to meet fascinating individuals in the coming year as I move from place to place. I'd love to document their stories and share them with all of you.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy the blog as much as I enjoy producing each post! Thanks for reading!
