Alecto smiled brightly, she couldn’t help herself, a handsome man like him was complimenting her, even if he was a bloodtraitor. “Yeah, I do” she nodded. “I uh… I’m a chaser, I joined the team on my second year” she explained. “My brother joined a year after, but he’s a beater… do you play quidditch?”
Nick nodded and then raised an eyebrow, he always got excited when he met a fellow chaser. “That’s awesome, Alecto.” He nodded, “Second years, that’s incredible. I made the team my second year as well.” He smiled, “I played Quidditch and I was actually a captain. I’m a chaser.”
Busted || Mark and Nicholas [1973]
Mark turned the volume down a little and looked over his shoulder at his brother sitting on his bed. “It’s Puddlemere United against Montrose Magpies, Puddlemere is winning,” he said. Puddlemere had always been his favorite team so he tried to catch every game that he could and kept up with them. It was his dream deep down to play for them someday but sometimes that felt unrealistic.
“What brings you to the manor?” he asked, although he was already pretty sure that Nick was here to talk about the other night.
“Good.” Nick nodded and folded his hands in his lap. “I know how much you like Puddlemere so it’s a good day for you, huh?” He laughed a bit and then ruffled his hair, feeling a bit nervous. Mark just had to be upset with him, anyone would.
“Oh, I like to stop by, you know that. Can’t stay away from my family.” He nodded and then sighed, “I wanted to check on you especially.”

Garret chuckled. “We’ll split up, that way it’ll be more fair” he offered with a slight smile before looking at the little guy. “Of course! Well, you already know Mark…” He reminded him with a light chuckle and then turned to Nick. “You should come as well” he said sincerely.
Nick pointed a finger at him and laughed, “Hey, I was pretty good back in my day.” He chuckled and Matty jumped up and down. “Yeah. That’s awesome.” He smiled and then looked at his dad, “Yeah! Come!” Nick smirked and nodded, “Perhaps, although I should go find Lily soon.” He looked around all the tents.

Was she friends with Marlene McKinnon? No, of course not. She wasn’t allowed to be friends with people like her, she was constantly surrounded by mudbloods like Evans or Meadowes.
“She’s on my year” she explained. “We share a few classes, but I haven’t really talked to her, so I don’t know her too much” she said politely, which was true. Alecto chuckled. “Well, she’s determined to knock me out of my broom during quidditch matches, but that’s her job as a beater so I can’t really blame her” she smiled a little. She didn’t have anything against Marlene per say, she was too loud, yes, but she had never interacted with her in person.
“Oh.” Nick nodded, “She’s very nice, you should get to know her. You’re nice too so it seems like you might get along.” This girl seemed nothing like her father, she seemed to respect other people very nicely. “You play Quidditch?” He raised an eyebrow, “That’s awesome. What position?” He ran his fingers through his hair.

“Now I don’t” she said, frowning. Marlene listened to her brother and then tilted her head to the side. “Like you are” she said pointedly. “Now you know how it feels” she shrugged, not really believing what Nicholas said because Frank was always really nice.
Frank had to bite his tongue to not laugh at Marlene’s comment, instead, he ran his hand through her hair gently and glared at Nicholas. “Don’t bring her into this, she’s just a kid…but I guess you don’t really care about that” he said sarcastically.
Nick sighed, why did everyone have to be mad at him? He wasn’t doing anything wrong. “Marlene, sweetie. Why are you like this? I’m your favorite older brother.” He laughed, “Let’s go make you some breakfast and maybe I’ll take you for some ice cream, mom doesn’t have to know.”
He shot a look at Frank, “She’s not a kid.” Of course he wasn’t talking about Marlene, but Lily.

An auror, she thought and subtly looked at his features, pretending to be eating her tart. He looked familiar, or like someone she knew. The blonde hair, the scottish accent, those eyes… oh. “Are you, by any chance, Marlene McKinnon’s brother?” She asked politely. Marlene was a pretty girl, Alecto was sure she had heard Amycus saying that he might try to have a go with her and now it just seemed logical that her brother would be handsome as well.
Nick looked at her back, he could tell she was putting the pieces together, trying to figure him out just as he was doing with her. Nodding, he took a sip of champagne. “Yes.” He winked, “She’s my little sister. Are you friends with Marlene?” He cleared his throat and laughed. “She’s a bit crazy though, huh?”

Mafalda mumbled something unpleasant, sliding her folder back into her bag and giving it up for a lost cause at the time being. She’d get back to her after-hours case studies later.
Glancing up, she paused. He looked familiar, and she took a moment to examine his face before identifying him “Mr. McKinnon,” Mal greeted, straitening properly. She wasn’t sure he’d recognize her, seeing as they’d only come into contact a few times within the ministry, the last occasion being several months before. She’d spoken mostly to Alastor then. The tall blonde had spent her fair share of hours collaborating with the Auror department. “It’s no problem. How did that case with Mr. Borgin turn out? Did the psychological profile and criminal history I provided aid in the investigation?”
Nick stood up straight and laughed a bit at being called Mr. McKinnon, it felt nice, but it was what people called his father. He always wondered how much people compared them, if poeple thought that Nicholas could ever be as good as the man he had looked up to all his life.
He folded his hand and held them in front of him, looking at her plainly. “How are you doing, Ms. Hopkirk?” He smiled and nodded, “It was great. He has quite a bit of curious items, but I’m not sure it’s really enough to convict him of anything.”

“Uh, your best friend? The one who care about you and wants you out of trouble?” He hissed before feeling Marlene hugging him. Frank sighed and ran his hand through her hair. “Hey, Marley” he said softly and smiled a little at her. “Yeah, I did” he nodded and then looked back at his Nicholas. “Hey” he warned him about his tone. Just because he was mad at him, it didn’t mean that he had to take it on his nine year old sister who had nothing to do with ti.
Marlene opened her eyes to glare at Nicholas. “I want breakfast and mum is gone” she said seriously. “I heard noises and realized that you were awake, Nicholas” she said now irritated at him and not moving away from Frank’s side.
Nick huffed at Frank, keeping his stare on the other man for longer than necessary. He looked at Marlene and let out a small sigh. “Do you want me to make you some breakfast?” He leaned in, “Frank and I were just having a little argument like you do with Charlie. He’s being very unreasonable and judgmental.” He lowered his gaze.

Alecto resisted the strong urge of letting out a bitter laugh. Her father was not a good man and she was sure he was just being polite because she was his daughter. She decided to avoid the topic and jumped to Nicholas’ own father who was probably a much better person than her own. “Oh, really? In which area does he work?” She asked curiously.
Nick smiled at her, eating another piece of cake, even though he already had too much. “My father is an Auror as well. I sort of look up to him.” He grinned looking at her, Alfred Carrow and his father didn’t get alone too well so if this girl figured out he was Richard McKinnon’s son, she probably wouldn’t like him so much.
