Lily nodded in agreement with his comment about the tarts. “Oh. Whoops” she laughed, it was very like her to misunderstand people, or not pay attention, her mother always got annoyed at her for that. “Oh? Who are they? Would I know them?” she asked. “I can’t play with him my games, only his little easy ones. And Dad says I have to let him win sometimes which is annoying, theres no point in playing if I know he’s going to win” she sighed.

Garret shrugged. "Perhaps you do, Alecto snd Amycus Carrow" he said, not sure if she would know them, though the last name was quite famous, as every Sacred 28 last name. He let out a soft chuckle. "I guess you are right" he nodded. "But he's just a toddler, winning s toddler is not too much fun either" he said simply.

“I like the chocolate tarts the best” she smiled, taking another bite. She liked Garret already, and now she had a friend that she could play with at these parties, instead of being bored all night. “But the apple are really good, you’re right” she grinned.

“Good. I’m glad we’re friends now” she said with a laugh. “What do you mean? Why do your parents choose who you’re friends with? You’re the one that has to be friends with me, not your parents” Lily frowned, the idea of her parents telling her who she can and can’t be friends with seemed so weird, and wrong. “He’s three. He’s not really a baby, but he can’t do much yet.” she shrugged. “His name is Tiberius”

“Oh, chocolate is good too” he nodded in agreement. “But the apple one is brilliant, particularly if you add some cream to it” he said pointedly. 

“I meant the parties that I attend” he said awkwardly, but also knowing that his parents wouldn’t be too pleased if he was friends with blood traitors, but what they didn’t know wouldn’t upset them. “Oh, I see...” he nodded. “I have cousins that age, they are twins, but it’s true, you can’t really interact with them” he admitted.

Tiberius laughed and shrugged, “I wear them better,” he joked knowing that he actually didn’t mind the age different with Garret, usually he got along with older people more than with people his age (making a few people the exception). “I’m just ambitious, but I know I’ll have to wait. There’s nothing wrong to have a big goal.” he smiled and nodded, “I know that, but I’m not always mature and grown with grey hairs, sometimes I’m still a stupid teen.”

"Well, everyone is entitled to their wrong opinions" he joked. "In your defense most adults act like five year olds, so you really shouldn't feel bad about being a ‘stupid teen’, which I’m pretty sure you aren’t and you are just being dramatic like your sister" he half teased.

Andromeda chuckled and shrugged, “Doing my best, NEWTs are eating my time away, I don’t know how I’ll be able to think after this year,” she joked with a laugh, “How about you?”

"I heard that they are terrible" he said, remembering what Geoffrey had told him. "Well, I'm pretty nervous about the whole Captain thing" he admitted. "And the teachers are already giving us tons of homework" he shook his head in disbelief. "So I need to find a way of organizing my schedule efficiently" he explained.

All that Marlene needed was him. She had been so unstable recently, too jumpy and scared of every single person that entered to that room, but not with him. With Garret, Marlene was just devastated that he couldn’t hold her like she wanted to be held or that he had to be so careful, it was as if she was made out of glass. “I w-will, b-but you aren’t” she insisted, closing her eyes as he kissed her.

“Y-you d-do?” She sniffed, resting her face on the palm of his hand. Marlene wasn’t sure if she was surprised or not about this. Her normal self would’ve grin and snog him senseless, but right now, she wasn’t sure why, but she found it strange and rather ridiculous. What could possibly he love about her? She was damaged beyond repair, she had been dragged to hell and she now had a permanent target on her back, which also lead to him also being a target.

He gently rubbed his thumb over her cheek. Even like this, she was beautiful. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever laid eyes on, and nothing would ever change that. “Of course I do, Marlene,” he assured her. He wasn’t surprised that she’d be questioning it after everything she’d just been through, and he wanted to make sure that she understood that he would never say that unless he truly meant it. “I love you so much. I have for quite some time now.”

She hated that he was being so still. It wasn’t his fault though, it was hers for being so weak and not wanting anyone to touch her. But this wasn’t a random person, this was Garret and she was in love with him. Marlene wrapped her ams him and let his strog scent and wam skin do its magic. “It’s o-okay, y-you are n-not hurting m-me” she sniffed against his neck, knowing that he was being extra careful when all she needed was him to comfort her.

“N-no, you d-don’t u-understand” she sobbed quietly as she shook her head again. Marlene then pulled away and looked at him for a moment with her eyes filled with tears. She didn’t think too much about it, but she pressed her forehead against his, cupping his neck with both hands since her arms felt too heavy to cup his face. “I l-love y-you, G-Garret” she sniffed with her eyes closed. “A-and I thought that I w-was g-going t-to d-die a-and y-you w-would n-never know that” she explained in between sobs, feeling pretty much like a kid who was lost and hopeless.

As she said it was okay, he couldn’t help but think she was just saying that to try to help him in some way. She was far from okay, and there was no way that he wasn’t hurting her. She’d been through unimaginable torture, and just breathing was likely putting her in pain. Still, she was upset and she wanted him to help, it seemed like, and he would do anything he could to help her. Gently, he moved a hand up to run his fingers through her hair and he pressed a kiss to her forehead. “Tell me if I am,” he said softly. 

As she pulled away, he moved so he could get a good look at her. Nothing made his heart ache more than the current sight of her. She was pale, cut up, aching, and crying. She deserved so much better than this. At her words, Garret barely even batted an eyelash at it. He knew that - he knew that Marlene loved him. Sure, he’d questioned it and wondered if he should say that he loved her, but when it came down to it he knew it. “I know,” he said softly, one of his hands moving to gently cup her cheek. “It’s okay, I know. I love you, too.”

Marlene shifted so she could sit on his lap. This has been the most she had moved ever since she got up and now she felt completely exhausted, but she didn’t care. Instead of tensing when he wrapped her arms around her or even kissed her head, she felt herself relax like she hadn’t been in a long long time. At his question, she simply nodded. Everything felt slightly better now, even if she was still crying her heart out and her body was in pain.

“I… I t-thought I w-was n-not g-going to s-see you a-a-again” she sobbed miserably against his neck. And it wasn’t the fact that she was not going to see him again, but more like he was never going to know how she felt about him. She had come to terms about dying, Marlene thought that dying for this, for what she believed in, was a good way to die. However, she had never been too vocal about her feelings, Marlene preferred to show rather than tell, but if she was going to die, then she wanted to let the people who she loved, know about her feelings. 

He didn’t move as she got onto his lap, not wanting to hurt her. He was sure she was in enough pain just as it was, let alone after moving so much just to be near him. He could tell her grow less tense, and even if it was just slight it was a relief that he could at least have done that for her. Right now, he didn’t see how else he could have possibly helped. 

At her words, his heart ached. He had thought just the same. Though her family assured him and each other that she would be back and everything would be okay, he couldn’t help but think that maybe she wouldn’t be back and maybe he would never see her again. “That doesn’t matter, because I’m right here and you’re getting to see me again. It’s over,” he said, his voice still calm and soothing.

“Ahh, I see” Pan noded her head in agreement at his Reasoning. It made perfect sense, Pan couldn’t say she would be able to handle fame so well, either. “ironic isn’t– it?” Pan asked sipping some of her drink, but gagging slightly at the after taste. “most people would do anything to be famous, yet every famous person you read about just wants to be left alone.” she said giving him a sympathic glance. “Change is a good thing.” she said latching on to his last words. Whating to ask the obvious question of what was he really doing in a place like this

“Not all of them, some actually enjoy the spotlight” he shook his head. “Some of my team mates enjoy talking to the press and being stopped at the street and sign autographs” he explained.

Garret felt like this girl wanted to ask him something, but was biting her tongue. For a moment, he thought on asking her what was it, but then decided against it, he wasn’t going to go there unless he was properly asked. He didn’t feel like talking to a stranger about his personal problems, it wasn’t nothing against her, she seemed really nice, but Garret was an extremely reserved person.

“I havnt either. I just think someone in charge should be nice you know?” She mused, nodding along with his comment about pumpkin juice “I like raspberry lemonade, it’s pink. It’s my favourite” she took another bite of the small tart, almost finishing it. “Thank you for the tart” she smiled.

“You should come more often. I don’t really have anyone to play with or talk to at these balls, if you came we’d be able to talk and really become friends” she smiled, before thinking for a moment “if you want. I don’t really have any friends my age, I only have my little brother, and he’s a baby so he’s boring. I want him to grow up sooner”

Garret nodded. This girl was nice and obviously it was a bit surprising for him since his parents always said that bloodtraitors were never nice. However, he didn't let it show. "Oh, they are delicious, but I must say I like the apple better" he admitted and then shook his head. "No problem" he smiled. 

 Yes, she definitely was very nice and in that moment, Garret decided he liked her. "I would love to" he smiled. "Though is not really up to me, my parents are the ones who decide" he huffed. "Oh, how old is he?" He asked curiously?"

Andromeda smiled at Garret and sighed, “Not everyone is keen to details, specially if you are terrified at them. I don’t see many people warming up to everyone. However some students want extra points added to the house club, or passes to miss certain classes. Is not something I approve so I don’t give them out. But you can see what people ask sometimes.”

“Yeah, I guess you have a point” he admitted. Garret was very observant, so he knew all those details, but not once used them. He just felt it was wrong and it kind of reminded him of his father, what he did to gain favors and such. “Still, anyways, how are you? Other than annoyed with people asking you about detention?” He asked smiling a little.

“That’s good. The minister is nice, at least I think he is. I havnt really met him but if he’s in charge, he must be a nice person right?” Lily mused, looking up at Garret with a smile. “Wine is gross anyway, Dad gave me a sip once and it was disgusting”

“Nice to meet you Garret” she smiled as he sat down. She felt better that not many people had seen her fall down. “That’s good” she mumbled, lifting up her skirt a little and looking at her knee, which was already a bit bruised, but not bleeding which was good. If she had gotten blood on her dress her Mum would have gotten very angry. “Yes please” she said, taking the tart from him and biting a little bit off. “I suppose. Mummy might not find out, that would be good.” She nodded. “I havnt seen you at any parties before”

"He's okay I guess... I haven't talk to him, but my parents are close to him, or at least that's what I think since he's always coming home or my father visits his office often" he shrugged before smiling. "It really is" he nodded in agreement. "I personally prefer pumpkin juice" he admitted. "Or lemonade..." Garret smiled when she took the tart and did the same with his own. 

For a moment, he wondered if her parents were awful since she said that, maybe they were so he kind of felt bad for her, mainly because he could relate. "Oh... well, I don't attend to many balls" he lied easily since he couldn't really say that it had to do with the fact that the Ogdens were bloodtraitors, that would be rude, even if it were true.

“Oh wow!” Pandora gasped, looking at his facial features more closely now,trying to remember what position he played. Instantly becoming star struck by him knowing it was probably annoying Pandora tried to remain calm. She didn’t want him to pass her off as a wierdo, it was just that she had never anyone famous before. Of course, their was her uncle but that was different entirely. Blushing Pan continued on like usual “Yeah, well here’s to getting drunk and good advice!” she giggled raising her drink so that they could toast. 

“Call me crazy, but I find to imagine such a celebrity- she kept her voice low  In a place like this” she gazed around the old and dusty bar realizing it didn’t have much life to it. “Unless you wanted to runaway or something really bad happened.” said spoke lowly hoping he wouldn’t find her observation too invasive 

Fame was the only thing he actually didn’t like about his job. When you were famous, people treated you differently and he hated that, not to mention the whole public eye thing. He smiled at her and raised his glass. “Cheers” he said politely and took a sip of his drink.

Garret almost rolled his eyes, but he didn’t, she didn’t seem bad or anything. “I don’t like being recognized” he said simply. “And I don’t like being the center of attention either, so when you go to those fancy pubs in upper Diagon Alley, it’ really hard to achieve that” he explained. “I like quiet places, is a nice change compared to the ever loud stadiums” he shrugged.
