Depending on who I talk to, I emphasize the queer romance and the insane chemistey, the representation, the criticism of privilege and the class system, the fact that it's an overcome the monster type story where the good guys win, the fact that the characters are realistic, not adults, have real skin etc, the fact that the drama comes from outside forces not immature overblown drama, that it's a serious drama, the stellar acting and brilliant cinematography, that it's made by women and queer people, that it twists all the usual tropes into something new, more mature and realistic, that it has believable character growth, that it has realistic portrayals of adhd, autism and cptsd, that the story sticks to the original plot and the end was planned from the beginning, that it's short without a second wasted (I don't care about this argument at all but some do), that it realistically portrays how racism works in the Nordic countries, that it shows how power corrupts, that it doesn't glorify upper class life or being royal at all, that it reveals the inner workings, thinking and behaviours of the privileged upper class.
