Being an audio drama fan is wild. I’ll see any mention of the real life red dwarf star Wolf 359 and my brain will just go “Ah! My good friend Douglas Eiffel functionally died there” and then I get a little sad. “Workplace comedy in space” sure is an odd way to say “heartbreaking tragedy that you will think about for the rest of your life”

Also been struggle-bussing mentally recently and have no ideas, saw this screen shot, and decided “low stakes drawing project.” I like the lighting in both versions so sharing both.

minkowski especially in the earlier eps makes me fucking sickkkkk. it's so easy to shrug off her behavior as Meddling/Micromanaging/Annoying Commander in general, or in ep21 as "oh haha she just really wants to kill the plant monster and nobody else cares!!!!" but on a relisten/looking back it's so. so very obvious that she's literally grasping at Having Control in her life in literally any way she can. she even says it herself later on: she's never been in control of the station, so she can't take that title back from lovelace. she never really held the title in the first place. the fact that in 21 she outright says this:

i am in charge of this disaster. somebody has to control.... control everything. and if she can't control the rogue agent that is an escaped plant monster, how can she ever hope to control a rogue agent like hilbert? how can she get someone like hera to listen to her, if she can't get someone like eiffel to say her name correctly? if she can't help her crew with the power cutter gave her, the person who made her everything she is, then how can she face earth and her home without expecting cutter to destroy her so thoroughly that nobody will so much as remember her name?
