Twice each year, around the equinoxes, morning sunlight passes through the arch of Kameiwa Cave to create the image of a shining heart.
Shimizu Keiryū Park, in Chiba Prefecture, Japan, became a tourist destination when a 2015 Instagram post featured the cave’s enchanting effect of light, rock, and water. People describe the wondrous place as a real-life version of the kind of settings found in Japan’s Studio Ghibli’sanimated fantasy films, like Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away.

These Dalmatian Pelicans are ready for lunch. Feeding can be a competitive time for a pelican, as it has to wait for the water to drain out of its throat pouch before being able to swallow. While this is happening, other birds often try to steal the food right out of the pelican’s mouth!

Hawa Mahal - Jaipur, India
Hawa Mahal, meaning Palace of Winds, is popular for its elaborate facade. It is a standout landmark of the City of Jaipur, which is also known as the Pink City.
Part of the City Palace complex, Hawa Mahal features 953 intricately carved windows, that provide great views of the old city, and were originally used by the ladies of the royal household, to watch the daily activities on the streets below.
