pissing myself at newsnight showing the list of mps who have resigned with boris johnson's face in the background played to a dramatic rendition of bittersweet symphony like he personally murdered each and every one of them
that one painting of joan of arc asleep on the hayā¦.. i need to tuck her hair behind her ear i need to hold her gently i need to let her head rest in my lap. it awakens some instinct within me to cradle her in my arms

"Stranger things kate bush renaissance" shut up shut up my mutuals have been talking about running up that hill (deal with god) for 100000 years we never stopped arewe nothing to you. You want us to die is that it
god i love reading about stupid drama in ancient greece. like there was an athlete named theagenes who was so good at every kind of athletic contest that when he died, one of his opponents would go to beat the shit out of a statue of him out of spite, but then one day the statue fell on the guy and killed him so the greeks took the statue to court for murder, convicted it, and threw it into the sea
actually i left out the best part of this story which is that a plague then struck and when people consulted the oracle at delphi she was like "well you've pissed of theagenes" so they had to go dig the statue back up out of the fucking water
small shifts in stimuli are surprisingly simple to do and can do wonders for your mental state
like some of these things are more manageable than other depending on how bad your state is but:
- changing the sheets on the bed to different ones
- taking a shower in the dark
- sleeping with your head on the opposite end of the bed
- going to sleep early and waking up early enough to watch the sunrise
- laying on the floor near a window to get a different view of the sky
- finger painting yourself
- wearing a piece of clothing that is brighter than what you normally wear
- sitting barefoot with your toes in the dirt (especially if you havenāt been outside in a while)
- drinking or eating lots of sour things then having a cup of water so the water tastes sweet
- walking out in the rain without bothering to keep yourself dry (not for too long though - you donāt want to make yourself sick)
- opening up a window and letting fresh air in
As someone with lifelong insomnia, one of the weird āhacksā Iāve found is actually sleeping at the end of my bed in a little nest Iāve made out of all my bedding. And for some reason, it often works. My brain resets and goes, āah yes, sleep! Letās have some of that again.ā
Steve Harringron in season 1 of Stranger Things is the most character. He did some bad stuff and immediately went "Aw, beans. That wasn't cool. I better go apologize" at which point The Plot he'd been blissfully unaware of for the entire show immediately tried to eat him.
Steve: "Hey Nancy I wanted to apologize for--"
Nancy, cocking a gun: "Wall's haunted."
