Sometimes you design a layout specifically for a certain shape or sized piece. However, you always have be flexible to alter it when the client comes back 6 months later wanting the same thing on a different product or size. Of course, it's never a simple matter of blowing up the artwork.
Here are two different sized EDDMs, as well as 2 of the posters that I made for their walls (all of which we also made desktop displays for), as well as one of them converted into a retractable banner stand display.
Series of baby shower invitation, thank you card, and birth announcement.
A clean and simple business card and fridge magnet layout for a professional law company. The business cards are printed on off-white matte.
Business card and truck magnet. I have designed multiple house related logos - it is always interesting when challenged to come up with another variation of the same concept that will look completely individual .
As all designers know, sometimes we get clients that know exactly what they want, and sometimes their idea of the perfect logo concept, typeface, even the name of their business itself can change in an instant.
I did a lot of chrysalis based logos for this client at first, because she wanted that metaphor of evolution, but in the end she decided that a much more stylized butterfly was her fancy.
I have to be versatile with these table tents because information is always subject to change. Also shown here is a small sampling of the multiple signboards I made.
This is business card with a ruler on the back, encouraging people to hold on to it. I also often make branded email signature icons for this client, like the holiday ball.
Incoming!
I do have some batches of files that I've taken home in the past, so I will be posting some of those to get in the groove of uploading! After that perhaps this will become more of a daily thing.
When I'm at work, I'm working.
There's no time to be copying down everything I do all day, or analyzing which of the 10 projects I wrapped up in the last 8 hours would be the best ones to round out the perfect portfolio.
Hopefully keeping this design blog will help me with consistency in saving my files from here on out.
