Meniere’s 101

Hi, 

This is Nicole Rossomano, and I am writing this blog to help inform others about the disease Meniere’s. This disease affected my family and me personally in 2005. My dad was diagnosed with the disease, and we made a family decision that we would all change our eating habits. 

Meniere's is something that can sneak up and affect you the rest of your life. Some symptoms can include ringing in the ears as well as vertigo and hearing loss. Doctors still do not understand what can cause Meniere's, but a theory is from too much fluid being filled in the ear.

Treatments can include surgery, medication, and lifestyle changes. A significant lifestyle change will be a low sodium diet. This was a massive change for my family because we weren’t used to looking at the nutrition facts.
