follow up from this self para, at bootlegger’s pub on APRIL 18TH. around eight in the evening.
0/5 open starter — @catalinastarter.
Eyes zoomed in the near empty glass of vodka on the rocks.
Lydia had never been one for hard liquor but there she was, grimacing every time the cold liquid touched the tongue and warmed down her throat.
She had absolutely no idea what she was seeking in the bottom of whatever bottle she had selected for the night, but her only requests were that whatever she was drinking was cheap enough for her to sustain during the time she occupied that particular stool of Bootlegger’s.
Her father had been a fan of the bar once — it was hard to know what she should call him nowadays — so much the bartender had recognized her from day one. It made her wonder if he thought she was trailing down the same path as he was, maybe she was.
Swallowing back the rest of the transparent liquid in her glass, Lydia knocked on the wooden counter asking for a refill. It wasn’t hard to see that her train was on the way to drunk station, her cheeks were flushed and she was far from focusing on what was happening around her. Letting out a loud sigh, she felt the overwhelming feeling of restlessness consuming her as she started looking around. She wasn’t certain on what she was looking for, but as her eyes settled on the person occupying the stool on her right, one eyebrow raised.
“Hey— you drinking alone? Want some company? Drinking alone fucking sucks and we can even play a game to make things more interesting. Are you game?”
-
If she is right (within mostly she was) her glass would be finished with the next three sips but Nic was nowhere to be finished with the script in her hands. The bootlegger’s pub - while may not seem like the ideal place to get work done - brings a sense of nostalgia that she enjoyed having when reading through a project for the first time. It was comfortable. In the beginning, she did not have an office or the structure they usufructs now, it was mostly reading working from old coffee places and bars like the bootlegger’s that the best ideas came.
Either that, or she was just romanticizing and picking the best parts of the past like everyone almost tends to do. It was a good break, anyway.
With one more sip, it’s only two more to go before she calls the night - especially when she is almost sure she has read through the same line for the third time. The papers then travel down to the bar counter when a hard knock on the wood calls her attention and she turns around when a voice beams in.
“Not sure —” Drinking alone would consist in her consuming something alcoholic? If that was so, then no. “Are you drinking alone? What’s the occasion?”
georginalivingston:
With six days before the family’s Mexico trip, anxiety has swallowed the women whole. Not for the reason that she regrets booking this necessary getaway. If anything, Geo’s been longing to get a moment to catch her breath, but importantly, relax due to everything that’s unfolded in the last few years. But embarking on a trip has brought an influx of worries capsizing her as the days begin to tick near. Does she have enough sunblock for the kids? Will they be able to handle the three hours on the plane, along with the three hours of waiting at the airport? Or does she have all of the essentials, such as emergency antibiotics, if someone falls ill? Causing one thought to circulate after another as it keeps her wide awake on this Monday.
Yet, each time as the brunette swears that she’ll call it an evening with packing and head to sleep, the tingling of agnoization alerts her to get back up and to take care of whatever may be the worry now. Thankfully, a text message from Nicole distracts and reassures her. Not only did her best friend land safe and sound back in the States, which the brunette has been counting down the days till they can reunite, but the other plans to drop over after dropping Noah and Harry off at home. It makes her beam because it would’ve been uncharacteristic for the women to wait until the morning. But, it does alert Georgina something must’ve happened on this trip. Twenty-so-years of friendship gives one permission to pick up on warning signs long before hearing the words escape from the other’s confines.
In lieu of Nicole’s impending arrival, she wandered quietly down the stairs to the kitchen to pick up two wine glasses and a couple of dishes. The action short in its mission of items to gather. Though, the mother did stop by Asher and Joanna’s room to catch the dreaming sight of her loves, including the dogs, deep in their slumber before finishing the trek back to her room. Just as she set foot back into the master bedroom, the multiple dings from her iPhone indicate Nic will be here before and enter the estate with the housekey and knowledge of disarming home security code without forcing her to head downstairs once again.
Rather than the best friend’s usual greeting: hugs, cheek kisses, and fangirling about seeing each other again like children, words dash into the atmosphere instead. Instant with her awareness, hazel optics widen to the size of spotlights cast in the inky sky above. “Wait… what?” Stunned, growing frightened silvery falsetto comes to life, making sure she heard the correct words from Nicole’s mouth. The last thing Geo had expected to hear is Lisa Thompson being in contact with Nicole, let alone access the infant and hold him in her possession. “H-how did this even happen? Did one of your nannies let her in?” A halt in her words permits her to think about another person in the equation. “How much does Harry know?”
-
Maybe she should have waited until morning for this, rushing out of the house the way she did, even if was not uncommon to have Geo as her first stop after a long period away, it didn’t felt right. But before she could turn around and decide against it, she was already inside her best friend’s room, vomiting the words she forced herself to keep inside during these last couple of days. Then, she knew why, she needed to be here now, and waiting until tomorrow might not be the brightest idea.
"No, no, it was my - my grandmother did,” she collects her thoughts, pinning the events in a timeline to make a sense out of it before she could fill in all the question. "We never planned to take Noah with us, because that’d be crazy, and it was, it was the longest plane ride of my life, we were also busy for the most of it...” Nicole was pacing back and forth in front of the bed at this point, either a flush of adrenaline rushing through her veins, jet lag, or the last drop of energy she had in her body before the imminent collapse of exhaustion. The words fell past through her lips like an avalanche before she could even process then, just wanting to lay the entire story out there. “And, of course, we did not want to leave him here alone for the first time with just anybody... She is used to Noah and he is with her, her house and she wanted to do it, ... It made sense to let him with her." And there weren't any incidents in the past, besides the occasional commentaries in the format of a joke about how much Nicole was exaggerating in the cares of her baby, but nothing she couldn't handle or hasn’t heard a thousand times in the last six, almost seven months since Noah’s arrival. More important, she trusted Marla to do this one thing for her. “But then, after the last party with the crew I went to pick him up so we could spend the rest of the week with him before we had to leave and then, cameras rolling, Lisa Thompson is on, everybody.”
“He knows.” She replies, finally, drawing a long sigh. “I mean, he knows enough...” Like everyone she allows in, they always knew what Nic lets them know, but the two exceptions for the rule were, the subject of this conversation and, the one she was having the conversation with. Geo knows everything, but there were still parts of her life that she did not share as a whole, perhaps because she buried them far too deep, left in a corner behind that it was almost as it did not exist and she preferred to keep it that way.

LOCATION: Open House in Ventura
DATE & TIME: April 26, 2021 at 5PM.
“– I look forward to it. Thanks.” Right as he says goodbye to the next couple, a few more people walk in and start looking around. The condo is a fantastic piece of real estate: not too expensive for its location and stunning inside and out. There are already a couple of offers, and it’s only been on the market for a couple of days. It’s a damn shame Sebastian doesn’t have any use for it himself; he’d have kept it in a heartbeat. But he would be broke if he kept every fixer-upper he took on and fell in love with. “The view is stunning right?” Bash stops next to the person, who’s looking out at the ocean. Catalina really is amazingly beautiful. “You should wait and see the sunset. It’s breathtaking.”
-
It wasn't big of a secret that for the past year and so Nicole could be caught in some open house, trying to get the same sensation of falling in love for a property she could see herself moving in and make it a home. Unfortunately, it only happened once and she missed it, their offer was covered, and ever since no other house has caught the attention. “Remarkable,” she interrupts into the conversation at the sight of a familiar figure, stepping closer to pay watch over the scenery. “Sunsets, sunrises... Noah doesn’t miss one, always up before sunrise and always down after a sunset. We need a house with a better view of the ocean so the little guy have a better view of it, anyway...”
SPECIAL DELIVERY TO: @georginalivingston
LOCATIONS: Geo’s house
DATE & TIME: April 12nd around midnight
Many traditions were formed in the course of almost twenty years of friendship and, as the years passed, Nicole found herself holding tight to some as well adjusting to others as much as necessary to never let whatever life throws at her interfere with the dynamic she has found with one Georgina Livingston. After all, who would pick up an emergency night call for getting drunk and eat chocolate vegan cake while listening to Nicole talk about what has been wedged in her throughout this entire weekend? Something she barely could explain to Harry, trying to focus on just giving the next step and rearrange their entire agenda to fit a baby to fly with them to London.
She was holding up, one step after the other, one smile and a supportive congratulation speech to the team whose production has just won at BAFTAS. Her partner's hand was probably hurt by how tight she has held, trying to keep the storm inside her to pour out. If she was once good at it then Nicole could do it for a weekend — be whatever character a person needed her to be. Of course, back then it was out of fear of face loss or rejection and why it was better to sacrifice a part of herself instead. Surprisingly, out of the two people whose existence helped her out of that, allowing Nicole to be more of herself, only one could help her now. And that’s why, from the moment the plane landed back in California, and she could safely get Noah back to the house, in bed and with a storage of her milk ready, she grabbed the first car's keys she found and drove (not as safely to Geo’s house). She could have walked, but all the alcohol, chocolate, candy and the presents didn’t fit in her hands nor in a backpack.
Pulling at Geo’s driveaway the best way she could to not make any alarming noises to wake Asher or Joanna (or their pets), she carefully pulled some of the essentials first, texting Geo to lt her know it was Nicoler entering the house. Keys, dislarming the security system only to set it up again once she took everything from her car and got inside. The kids presents, Geo’s and more essential for now: the alcohol and the sugar. Next, she was making her way up, spotting the light on her friend’s room on.
“I saw my mother.” The words just fell through her lips the instant Nicole laid eyes on Geo, the facade she has put up for days now has completely disappeared. “I saw my mother, holding my child as if it everything was fucking normal and no one bother to ask me if I was okay with it. She was there, she has been there before, she met Noah efore and I didn’t even know."

MINKA KELLY as Gaby in Parenthood (TV Series 2010–2015).

maliaplayer1:
Malia enjoyed running. She knew it was crazy, but she enjoyed the wind wishing around her ears. She loved hearing her feet hit the pavement with each step she took. The thing she enjoyed the most was hearing the giggles and squeals from Tahlia and Tahj as she ran downhill and straight paths as fast as she could. The sounds bubbled up and around the stroller that she was pushing and it brought a smile to her face. It made her feel at peace.
They had just swerved around a curve before slowing down. Tahlia wanted to stop and look at some birds in a tree, chirping away. She started to chirp as well which sent her brother into chirps and Malia joined in as they all pretended to speak with the birds. She was about to turn and move them along, when she felt a bump and got a little knocked off balance as she turned towards the catalyst of the impact. “What the…” Malia started with frustration on her face. Her eyes set on the dark-haired woman and her breath left her in a long puff. Nicole Ainsworth. The woman who was obsessed with her house. “Fuuuuuuuudge.” she finished softly, remembering that her children were in the stroller in front of her. “No, no. I’m good. We’re good.” she said leaning over to check on her twins who were happily swinging their feet as they continued to look at the birds. “Are…are you alright?” she asked looking her over before peeking over to the baby. “Trying to get him to sleep?” she asked, trying to avoid the subject that they always found themselves on when they interacted. Please don’t ask about the house. Please don’t ask about the house. Please don’t ask about the house.
❄
She almost, almost did not realize who she was speaking to with her eyes too occupied in the infant laying on the stroller in front of her, caressing his belly, begging for him to fall back to sleep or this morning would not go as planned, yet the word that came out of the woman’s mouth had a giggle falling from Nicole’s lips. Cursing, was not an option anymore apparently, not around children, she has adapted that around her friends’ children but not with her own perhaps would be a more 24/7 thing. Thankfully, theirs work. A few curses here and there, inside the protection of her office, should do the trick, to release the stress until Noah is old enough for her to have the talk.
Snapping back out of her thoughts, to shake some of the tiredness that lays on her shoulder, she looks up and draws a smile upon her lips, flickering her gaze between her and the little feet kicking outside the others' stroller. "I’m okay, it’s okay - I should not be trusted with a stroller, too, apparently.” Not something she would admit around for those a bit closer to her personal circle, it was bad enough that they did not trust her way of driving (which in her own opinion was ridiculous, she was fantastic). “More like begging, I thought he was finally adjusting to sleep through the whole night but not last night.”

❛ VENTURA COFFEE ROASTING CO. @ 8:30 AM ━━ @catalinastarter
The convenience of having the cafe in close proximity to her shop was a blessing in disguise, or a curse depending on how optimistic she chose to be that day. Considering she was spending a hefty amount on the expensive roast a day, it varied from time to time.
The wooden key ring bangle she slipped over her wrist jingled with each movement she made, including the panicked shifting she was doing through her bag in search of her wallet; which unfortunately she realized she had left on the coffee table back at home.
“Shit.” She muttered, before glancing around to see a line now starting to form behind her.
“We do Apple pay,” the barista cleverly informed, sliding the much needed cup of joe across the counter.
What? Did he not think she already knew this, that it just somehow slipped her mind??
“Yeah, I uh, I don’t have that set up.” Always late to the party when it came to electronics.
Embarrassed, but in need of her caffeine for the day, she turned to the person behind her, let go of her pride and groveled, “Listen, I know this is odd but do you mind paying for me? I can Venmo you, or something? Or, uh. My shop is right over there ━━ ” she paused, pointing behind them, “I have cash there, if you prefer that instead?” She nodded while giving a tight lipped smile their way, “I just really need this coffee.”
-
The brunette was far too deep into her own thoughts that barely noticed the scene that started to unfold in front of her; she kept her arms crossed and her head down, waiting for her turn to order ━ eyes closed, maybe, to give her a minute of rest. It was already eight, maybe a bit far into the morning but she has been up since four, so it almost felt like midday. The baby was finally moving to sleep during the night which meant she get a few more hours of sleep as well, but still there was the little voice of fear that woke her up in the middle of the night just to check on him, to make sure everything was okay. Nothing rolling off, no bugs inside the crib or neither she or Harry has roll over too far to fall inside to wake him up on the crib they kept next to their bed.
Wasn’t until that a voice caught her out of her thoughts, lifting her eyes to the woman in front of her and having to take a second or to two process the information. “Ah - “ she mumbles, a bit zoned out, opening her purse to pull her wallet out. “Yes, of course just... “ Nicole turns her attentions from the woman, to the person taking the orders, a few of her favorites, Harry’s and a couple of extra cups of coffee’s. “I don’t mind the money if you could just help me get these, back to my car because I’m almost sure I will stumble on my face before I get there.”
camilaxtorres:
Starter for: Anyone (0/5) Where: Public park downtown When: Late afternoon @catalinastarter
It had been one of those days where just everything went wrong and Camila was just done with it already. In general she was a woman who was patient and kind but right now she was having a short fuse. Training had gone badly, a dull ache had been there constantly for the entire day and she knew that it wasn’t going to pass until the next morning. So to see someone else being the target of some trouble was something that was quite a relief for the day. Any other day she would feel guilty for enjoying this. But right now it was a relief to see the woman going all crazy to another woman over the fact that she had found her boyfriend cheating on her with the other woman. “I feel like I’ve been watching a live soap opera for five minutes now. And I am never one to watch those, but this is rather… interesting. Tell me, what’s so interesting for us in other people’s pain?”
-
Not the best time to forget her glasses and too late (and too tired) to drive back and get them, so the woman sat quietly in one of the benches, forcing her eyes through the pages of one of the scripts she managed to get her hands on. It wasn't the best, but it wasn't terrible and it felt good to have something to focus her attention on other than the fact, that she has just taken Noah out of the house for more than half of hour to a walk around their neighborhood. "It makes us feel better about ourselves, it’s distracting,” nicole speaks, without diverting her eyes from the phone in her hands, unless it is to spare a few glimpses back at the stroller strategically place beside her. “I bet you are wonder what leads one side to do what they did and the other to act so public, if there is a bigger reason for whatever it was, did she see it coming? was he feeling neglected? Of course, not that it explains or justifies his behavior anyhow. Are they just a fling or old lovers that had just met and the other just happened to be caught in the middle of someone’s else love story?”

☼
Just as Geo’s mouth gaped, preparing to crack another jest about her friend’s lack of words or fight about her homebound lifestyle since Noah’s arrival, the other got to her first. Crying is the last thing she wants to do today, especially since she doesn’t want to be one of those moms who cries over every milestone. Usually, her emotions remain enacted and composed, opting to wear a scintillating sight over features and mouth corners, but it’s different today. A part of her didn’t know whether she’d be here today, celebrating her son’s birthday, after postpartum almost won the battle of giving up. If it hadn’t been for the woman near and the unlimited support given, she wouldn’t have known what light felt after a prolonged overcast.
So, she sniffles dramatically as Geo profusely blinks back the damp glazing over her hazel optics. “Stop it,” she utters, digits gently hitting the clothed forearm of the other, “It’s somewhat emotional, okay? We’re here with our kids. Harry is here, being the best uncle to both kids… let me have it this once.” A brief pause to take a laborious inhale. “Just for a second, please.” It comes out in an unwavering state of sentiments throughout her falsetto, forcing herself to focus elsewhere to avoid making eye contact with Nic. Just a second is all she needs. She’ll be back on her mighty throne and proceeding on with her supermom antics as nothing has happened.
Though, just like that ─ a snap of the fingers ─ causes the atmosphere to shift to everything blithe, just like Geo planned it. Peals of giggles from children and grown laughter erupts in the spacious background as a reminder that the afternoon is full of delight. There’s so much for them to enjoy, such as Geo’s ecstatic state to show Nic the present for Asher ─ an exclusive print of Action Comics No.1, signed by Nicholas Cage, formerly the book’s owner. “Bragging rights with evidence? Sounds like everything. Send it to my e-mail as soon as you can,” she points out with a vaulted brow before shifting in the growing pea-green grass. “All you’ll get from the kids is a good hand wash because there’s no way they’ll get out of their costume to go through a sanitizing process. Also, do you ever wonder you’re both a little bit too dramatic about germs?”
‘Okay’. She barely manages to mumble, Nicole can only feel her lips parted opened to let the air escape in a long and exasperated sigh to help her control her own emotions. There was no exact amount of strength she needed to pull herself out of there and, honestly, there was no need to because it wasn't a bad thing. Geo could have that moment - rightfully - she deserves that moment to take it all in but that little bubble they are involved for a second, and where her voice goes a bit higher and her eyes avoided contact with Nicole's does the other to need a minute too. Maybe, this was where she could make the joke where they were getting old and snap both back, but thankfully, their surrounds does it for them — it’s a happy day.
“Oh my God - “ She says, shaking off the previous lines of melancholy from her features before it was even noticeable to anyone but them. “I will but when you will watch over Noah and I will be here to get a peek at everything this kid got because if it is as amazing as this, he and I will have a lot to play for at least a week.” But as if the woman could go that long without having her monitoring everyone gets anywhere near her baby, or watching closely his routine, that’s why her and Harry were edging exhaustion every day. They were doing everything. The staff in their house was them and someone to help with the cleaning once a day when Noah was asleep in the room, and the room was Nicole’s to take charge of where Harry was out in the office and vice-verse if the opposite makes it necessary and she has to attend anything remotely. It was becoming quite a lot. Her family, his family, their friends knew but the fear of anything happening to the baby, it was something almost paralyzing. A growing feeling of anxiety inside her chest that she has never felt before. “I know, it’s okay and I would not have them getting out of their costume, besides - we need them in their costume.”
“Yes,” if it was anyone asking this, she was going to lie her way out, easily. But there was no way for her to do it in front of her best friend. “But, what am I going to say to Harry when we can barely sleep at night if Noah does as much as sniffs?” Her eyes dart back to the baby monitor, turning off on her heels to point down the hall for them to go get Noah. “I have no idea what I’m doing Geo, he is so small and I guess I just don’t want anything to happen but yes, and everyone keeps saying that to us. That we are crazy. That he needs to build his antibodies, strengthen his immune system... my grandma wants her dog to sleep close by, how is that normal?”
flynnkhumalo:

Flowers mean I’m sorry and chocolates mean I love you. Now there was a sentiment Flynn has never heard. For a moment, he silently curses his father for not giving him this piece of advice. Perhaps he would have sparred himself many embarrassment if he knew better. “Well, shit, maybe I shouldn’t be getting my mother some flowers for her birthday..” Flynn muses, looking down at his cellphone nestled within his hand. He had been typing out ideas for a bouquet. Roses had seemed too romantic so he crossed those out almost instantly. He had settled on some pink flower that he couldn’t remember the name of, and some baby’s breath. But, for now, he decides to shoves his phone back into his pocket, turning to the woman at his side. At first, Flynn is a tad taken back when he sees her. Then, his thoughts go a little like this: Jesus, is this woman a supermodel? Flynn clears his throat before speaking again, “You don’t assume I should get my mother some chocolates, then, yeah?” He teases, a laugh sounding from him.
"Always get your mother chocolates and flowers. They deserve it.” and Nicole is very assertive and quick to interject that piece of information, Noah better not ever come home empty hands after all these months of sleep deprivation and the ones that she will still endure. She is almost sure she won't ever sleep again, not even when he is older and leaves the house. “I think chocolates and flowers to mothers coming from your child have a different meaning, and that’s me talking.” It’s then that her attention is turned from the man she was speaking to, to the fighting couple that seems to have reached the climax point with the bouquet being stepped upon and left behind. Perhaps, this was when she could scream cut or the whatever direction was working on set would do, she did not care — here, in front of a strange, she could admit that just a tidy little part of her missed set life. “So, you need a present for your mother I’m assuming, yes?”
﹢ IG NOTIFICATION:
nicoleainsworth posted a new picture
HC #1: Nicole celebrates every new month into her baby’s life with a little cake with just her, Harry, and sometimes Geo, and the kids when they can come over in time. It’s a very private moment for them and their house is still kept as a clean environment for the baby.
HC #2: The couple hasn’t decided if there will be a big party for the first year of Noah’s life, but for sure they will do something. Fears need to be overcome in order for that to happen.
HC #3: Internet trolls. Nicole is a dinosaur, has passed over through every social media, and has been good to deal with trolls over time because she has gained notoriety (also) thanks to social media. Yet, as time passed and she became older, her presence on social media decreased. Most of her posts are work-related, she doesn’t share much of her personal life (she has a private account for friends and family), and keeps a very distant and clean interaction.
When she and Harry first got together and then engaged, interest grew about the couple's life, and obviously, baby news, and then Noah came. She could not hide her pregnancy and did make sense to do so, she was finishing a project and had then to do a press-conference tour before gave birth. Nicole & Harry decided not to hide the news, but not to share any pictures of the baby. Sometimes, they give a peek like the five months celebration post or the flash costume & that drives the trolls nuts. Nicole goes crazy, she is very calm and control until it comes to her family. Neither her or Harry see/or are celebrities/famous, but due Nicole’s mother & grandmother, she gets an extra attention she sometimes doesn’t want.
